By investing in our people’s continued growth and learning, we challenge and change how we build together - people and business.\nRole Objective:\nTo develop the designs and engineering drawings of jobs by incorporating the contract specifications, client requirements and government regulations without compromising the constructability of these designs. To ensure the use of creative solutions in the design of jobs that reduce manpower requirements, cost and time. Responsible for the training and development of subordinates.\nRoles & Responsibilities:\nConsiders creative solutions to job requirements that would reduce manpower requirements, cost, and time.\nConsiders creative solutions to job requirements that would distinguish Amana from other competitors.\nResearches the market for advanced construction technologies and creative solutions that would improve structural design.\nUtilizes programs and designs to improve speed and efficiency of design duties.\nEstablishes Amana image as a leading design and built contractor in all industrial domain.\nEnsures the design compatibility with authorities’ rules and regulations.\nPerforms structural design and analysis.\nFor Design/Build contracts, coordinates the activities of the consultant, client, and Amana in order to develop the compliant design as per the client requirements and obtain the approval of the authorities in the shortest possible time frame and within the Job estimate developed by the Estimation function.\nInterfaces with clients, consultants, and authorities to ensure the quick approval of drawings compliant with the job contract and requirements.\nChecks and approves for the compatibility of the architectural, civil, MEP, and steel/cladding drawings and designs (both in-house and third party) and ensures the resolving of any incompatibilities in coordination with the relevant parties.\nEnsures the timely delivery of updated “Issued for Construction” drawings defined by the drawing log set by Engineering Manager.\nReviews the steel design / drawings received from steel manufacturing company in co-ordination with Sr. Steel Designer in order to develop the concrete design and cover the interface areas properly.\nManages daily interactions with authorities to ensure the quick and delay-free issuance of all required permits.\nPrepares drawing submittal log in line with the overall project schedule in coordination with the Planning function.\nProvides As Built Drawings for jobs on a timely basis and as per the requirements of the Construction department.\nPerforms site visits as needed to compare designs with actual site practices as well as to improve knowledge of practical building practices. Assists Cost Control function, as needed, in variation orders and reports the same to manager.\nDevelops and maintains a library of standard constructible details of least cost implications.\nAssists the Engineering Manager in the completion of the Engineering section structural Works of the End of Job Report.\nSupports Tendering department by providing technical design and advice to minimize the cost to help securing projects.\nAssists in the training and development of personnel in the Engineering function.\nResponsible for the training and development of subordinates. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Management.\nEducational Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering (preferred)\nMinimum 8 years of relevant experience\nProficient in Autodesk Revit (Revit Certification is a plus)\nStrong knowledge of structural analysis software such as STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAP, SAFE, PROKON, and Concise Beam\nSolid experience in concrete structural design, with familiarity in both precast and steel structures\nAbility to design G+4 concrete buildings\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nSelf-motivated, proactive, and capable of working under pressure\nStrong time management skills with a focus on speed and accuracy\nWhat makes a true AMANAian?\nWe know that our company growth and success come from our people who continuously drive our company, partners and clients forward.
