Our global network includes facilities in Canada, the United States and Hungary ensuring regional expertise and global strength.\nThe Position:\nThe Mechanical Design Co-op will work directly with Mechanical Design Lead and Design teams to ensure projects are met on budget. The incumbent will work with the management and department personnel to deliver the Eclipse Vision and the Eclipse Entrepreneurial Culture.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nPerform engineering calculations with respect to strength of materials, speeds, horsepower, temperature, pressure, force, etc. as related to machine and tool designs\nAnalyze engineering drawings and specifications to determine shape, dimensions, hardness etc. in the development of equipment, processes and products\nExamine feasibility of using one or more machines to carry out sequential operations\nProduce working drawings, detail drawings and bills of materials for equipment, sub-assemblies or product using Auto CAD and SolidWorks\nAnalyze designs and systems for compliance to applicable standards (i.e. OSHA, CE or customer specific)\nReview drawings for accuracy, material selection, proper machining techniques, finishes, hardness, etc.\nLiaise with vendors for technical information and specifications\nCommunicate all requested design changes to the Applications Manager\nContribute accurate documentation for each project\nWork requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills\nAbility to work within a team environment and actively participate in group meetings\nComplete other duties and projects as assigned\nEnsure scheduled milestones are met\nNotify the appropriate departments if milestones are not projected to be met by expected due dates\nAdhere to the Eclipse Project Operating Policy\nMaintain good corporate citizen role in support of the Eclipse Corporate Vision\nEnsure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Eclipse Automation Inc. Conduct Code\nAdhere to all health and safety rules and procedures\nFoster the development of a culture reflective of the core values of the business\nWhat We're Looking For:\nCurrently enrolled in a post-secondary engineering degree, diploma or equivalent, specializing in robotics & automation, mechanical, systems or mechatronics engineering.\nStrong organizational skills\nAbility to establish priorities and work without supervision\nUnderstanding of robotics, control systems and machine operation with hands on experience is desirable\nA self-starter with the ability to work as part of a team in a fast paces environment with minimal supervision\nStudents should be enrolled in a post-secondary academic program that requires successful completion of a co-op/work term.\nWhy Join Us:\nHere at Eclipse Automation, creation and innovation are at our core, and our culture reflects that.
