You will work on projects in fields such as power transmission, medical therapies, and navigation electronics. Alongside direct simulation work you will lead workshops and training sessions as well as providing technical presentations and commercial support. Fundamental knowledge is important as problems can vary greatly, but knowledge of electric motor simulation would be valued.\nRequirements\n1st or 2.1 degree in computational physics, engineering mathematics or applied electronics. Master’s or PhD qualification in a relevant subject area. Additional postdoc or industry experience would be beneficial.\nExcellent fundamental understanding around electromagnetic principles. Ideally, this can be demonstrated through teaching or tutoring of university-level students.\nExperience with computational simulation / modelling tools (MATLAB, COMSOL, SIMULIA, Simcenter, Octave, etc).\nGood communication skills (this is a client-facing role, and so being comfortable presenting and discussing technical details is important).\nFull, unrestricted rights to work in the UK (no company sponsorship is on offer).\nThe role is based at their Cambridge offices. Hybrid working is possible after the first month (possibly up to 3 days per week working from home). Compensation on offer is competitive and includes a range of benefits. The company provides technical training where needed and provides an excellent environment to help transition from academia to industry.
