The role leads a team of technicians in executing preventive, predictive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, safety requirements, maintenance standards, and operational objectives.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities for electrical, instrumentation, and control systems, including corrective, preventive, predictive, inspection, testing, and shutdown maintenance.\nEnsure maintenance work is executed according to approved procedures, quality standards, and work instructions.\nMonitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve reliability, availability, and maintainability.\nLead troubleshooting and fault diagnosis activities for electrical and instrumentation equipment and ensure timely restoration of operations.\nParticipate in root cause analysis (RCA) investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring failures.\nConduct equipment inspections, identify defects, and ensure timely follow-up actions are completed.\nManage and prioritize work orders based on operational requirements and maintenance priorities.\nCoordinate with the Maintenance Planner to ensure manpower, tools, materials, permits, and spare parts are available before work execution.\nSupport maintenance shutdowns, turnarounds, and emergency maintenance activities.\nVerify completed maintenance work with relevant stakeholders before work order closure.\nEnsure full compliance with electrical safety regulations, company policies, permit-to-work requirements, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and switching procedures.\nSupervise electrical isolation, switching operations, functional testing, and loop checking activities in accordance with approved procedures.\nEnsure all maintenance activities comply with statutory, regulatory, and audit requirements.\nPromote a strong safety culture and ensure safe work practices are consistently followed by the maintenance team.\nMaintain calibration, testing, and verification records for critical instruments and equipment as required.\nLead, supervise, and coach electrical and instrumentation technicians to achieve maintenance objectives.\nAssign work responsibilities, monitor performance, and provide technical guidance to team members.\nFoster teamwork, discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.\nIdentify training and competency development needs to enhance team capability and performance.\nEnsure accurate and timely recording of maintenance activities, equipment history, failure analysis, and corrective actions in the maintenance management system.\nPrepare daily maintenance updates, breakdown reports, and periodic performance reports.\nMaintain proper documentation of maintenance records, inspection reports, calibration certificates, and statutory compliance records.\nReview and authorize requests for maintenance materials, spare parts, and consumables within approved authority limits.\nSupport spare parts planning and inventory optimization to ensure critical items are available for maintenance activities.\nInitiate purchase requisitions for urgent material requirements when necessary and follow approval procedures.\nSupport plant commissioning, modification, and improvement projects related to electrical and instrumentation systems.\nPerform any other duties assigned by the Maintenance Manager or Head of Department.\n\nJob Requirements\nMinimum Diploma or Professional Technical Certification in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related technical field from a recognized institution.\nCertified BO Chargeman issued by the Energy Commission Malaysia is an added advantage.\nAdditional competency certifications related to electrical or instrumentation maintenance are advantageous.\nMinimum 10 years of experience in electrical and instrumentation maintenance within manufacturing, chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or heavy industrial environments.\nAt least 5 years of experience in a supervisory or team leadership role.\nStrong knowledge of High Voltage (HV) and Low Voltage (LV) electrical supply and distribution systems.\nGood understanding of electrical motors, transformers, switchgears, protection systems, variable speed drives, and power distribution equipment.\nProficient in industrial instrumentation systems, including pressure, temperature, flow, level, and analytical instruments.\nKnowledge of instrument calibration, verification, functional testing, loop checking, and troubleshooting techniques.\nFamiliarity with PLC, DCS, building automation systems, and industrial control systems.\nUnderstanding of maintenance strategies, including preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.\nStrong leadership and supervisory skills.\nEffective planning, organizing, and coordination abilities.\nGood problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nAbility to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.\nProficient in maintenance documentation, reporting, and computerized maintenance management systems
