This hands-on, field-based role provides Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) support with a primary focus on environmental compliance and waste management while serving as an integrated member of the site's broader SHE function. The successful candidate will maintain a strong presence in operating areas, work closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, and plant leadership, and help drive compliance, risk reduction, and continuous improvement across the facility.\nWhat's in it For You:\nStarting on Day 1: Access to our comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, matching 401(k), company-paid pension, stock purchase plan, paid parental leave, select discounted childcare resources, and more.\nThe opportunity to take on meaningful challenges while helping customers achieve clean water, safe food, and healthy environments.\nThe ability to make an impact and shape your career with a company that is passionate about growth.\nThe support of an organization that believes it is vital to include and engage diverse people, perspectives, and ideas to achieve our best.\nWhat You Will Do:\nOwn and support the facility's hazardous and non-hazardous waste management programs, including waste characterization, profiling, labeling, accumulation requirements, inspections, manifests, shipment documentation, vendor coordination, and recordkeeping.\nMaintain a strong field presence in waste accumulation and storage areas to verify compliance requirements are effectively implemented.\nPartner with Operations and other functional teams to identify and correct waste-management deficiencies and environmental compliance gaps.\nSupport compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental regulations, including EPA, RCRA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, and Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) requirements.\nSupport environmental monitoring, sampling, testing, inspections, recordkeeping, and reporting activities.\nAssist with preparation and submission of environmental reports, including Tier II, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Annual Waste Summary, Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs), air emissions reporting, and other regulatory requirements.\nSupport air, waste, wastewater, stormwater, spill prevention, and pollution prevention programs, including SWPPP and SPCC implementation activities.\nParticipate in environmental audits, regulatory inspections, corrective actions, and agency interactions.\nIdentify opportunities for waste minimization, pollution prevention, and environmental performance improvements.\nMaintain a visible and consistent field presence throughout the facility to support site SHE objectives.\nConduct routine SHE inspections, audits, observations, and hazard identification activities.\nEngage employees and contractors on safe work practices and SHE expectations.\nSupport plant safety programs including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), hot work, confined space entry, PPE, contractor safety, and other applicable programs.\nParticipate in Management of Change (MOC) reviews, Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSRs), incident investigations, near-miss reviews, and corrective action follow-up activities.\nSupport maintenance activities, projects, startups, shutdowns, outages, turnarounds, and other operational initiatives requiring SHE support.\nAssist with SHE training, employee awareness initiatives, occupational health, and industrial hygiene activities as needed.\nCollaborate with the broader SHE team to address emerging site priorities, support continuous improvement efforts, and share ownership of overall site SHE performance.\nSupport Responsible Care initiatives, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) objectives, and additional site SHE priorities as assigned.\nPosition Details (Location & Work Schedule):\nLocation: Nalco Water, an Ecolab Company - Fresno, Texas\nWork Environment: On-site, field-focused position supporting an active chemical manufacturing facility.\nRegular work in manufacturing and operating areas is required.\nFrequent interaction with employees, contractors, and site leadership.\nPosition requires maintaining a significant presence in the field and supporting day-to-day operational activities.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field.\nRelevant SHE, environmental, or regulatory compliance experience in a manufacturing, chemical, industrial, or related environment.\nWorking knowledge of environmental compliance requirements applicable to industrial facilities.\nExperience or working knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous waste management practices.\nAbility and willingness to maintain a strong field presence in an operating manufacturing environment.\nAbility to effectively collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, contractors, and other site personnel.\nStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.\nAbility to balance environmental compliance responsibilities with broader SHE support requirements.\nNo Immigration Sponsorship available for this position.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience supporting SHE programs within a chemical, industrial, or manufacturing facility.\nExperience with hazardous and non-hazardous waste management and RCRA compliance requirements.\nExperience working with TCEQ and EPA regulations and compliance programs.\nExperience supporting SWPPP, wastewater, SPCC, stormwater, air compliance, environmental reporting, and waste minimization initiatives.\nExperience conducting SHE inspections, audits, and field observations.\nExperience supporting incident investigations, corrective action programs, employee training, MOC processes, and PSSR activities.\nExperience with industrial safety programs including LOTO, hot work, confined space entry, PPE, and contractor safety.\nProfessional certifications or specialized training such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), RCRA waste-management training, Industrial Hygiene (IH) training, or similar credentials.\nStrong organizational, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.\nExperience using SAP or similar enterprise systems.\nAnnual or Hourly Compensation Range\nThe pay range for this position is $101,400.00 - $152,100.00.
