You will be responsible for the service, installation, commission, breakdown, repair, and calibration of a wide range of innovative bio-decontamination equipment, utilised within life sciences, healthcare and pharmaceutical environments.\nThe role will report into the Services Supervisor and be part of a team of UK and Irish engineers. Our customers expect great service and we’re focused on providing exceptional products combined with a world-class level of aftercare.\nWhat you'll do\nTechnical\nInstall, commission, and verify medical devices/systems at customer sites in accordance with project plans, approved procedures, and safety requirements.\nPerform equipment qualification and verification activities as applicable (e.g., IQ/OQ/PQ, GCD), including documenting results, deviations, and customer sign-off.\nPerform preventive and corrective maintenance, diagnostics, and on-site repairs to restore system performance and minimise downtime.\nTroubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and network-related faults using appropriate tools, procedures, and controlled documentation.\nExecute preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration checks (where applicable), and on-site repairs to restore performance and minimise downtime.\nComplete accurate service documentation (service reports, checklists, device history records as applicable), ensuring traceability and compliance with quality system requirements.\nSafety & Compliance\nComply with relevant regulations and standards as applicable, as well as customer site policies (GMP).\nCoordinate with customers (lab managers, biomedical/clinical engineering, QA) to complete site work, manage access, and communicate status, risks, and next steps.\nEscalate complex or recurring issues with clear evidence (logs, photos, measurements) and participate in root cause analysis and corrective actions/preventive actions (CAPA) as required.\nEnsure compliance with applicable standards and site rules (HSE, permits, access control, tool calibration, ESD as relevant).\nAdministrative\nProvide customer training and operational guidance; support handover, acceptance, and readiness for audit/inspection where relevant.\nMaintain readiness for extensive travel and regular overtime, including after-hours support during critical deployments or incident response.\nSupport acceptance testing, handover, and performance verification; contribute to continuous improvement of procedures and knowledge base articles.\nWhat you'll need\nHND / degree in Engineering (Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Electronics, or similar) or equivalent practical industry experience.\nProven experience in field service, commissioning, maintenance or technical support for complex equipment - preferably in life science, healthcare, or other regulated environments.\nStrong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software; ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams and technical manuals.\nWorking knowledge of quality documentation practices in GMP (e.g., following controlled procedures, completing checklists, recording results, and maintaining clear service records).\nFamiliarity with test equipment and tools, and safe working practices (including electrical safety where applicable).\nBasic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, cabling, switches) and working with logs/configurations.\nAbility to work independently at customer sites, manage multiple priorities, and maintain professionalism in customer-facing settings.\nValid UK / Ireland driving licence and ability to travel extensively, including frequent overnight hotel stays and regular overtime.\nClear written and verbal communication skills; customer-facing professionalism\nNo immigration sponsorship available for this role\nNot allergic to penicillin \nIf you are excited about this opportunity, don’t be put off by all the experiences and qualifications in our job descriptions, we encourage you to apply anyways.
