Working closely with Quality, IT, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams, you will help build and improve software solutions that support CoolIT’s quality processes and digital transformation initiatives.\nWhat’s in it For You\nDay 1 Coverage: Employer-paid comprehensive benefits, including dental, prescription drug, vision, paramedical coverage, and a $1,000 annual Health Spending Account.\nRRSP: 2% employer-sponsored contribution.\nEnjoy three weeks of vacation, six flex days, and a one-week paid company-wide holiday shutdown.\n$1,000 Annual professional development allowance to support your ongoing learning, skill development, and career growth.\nDress for your day in a casual, professional environment.\nWork in a hybrid environment.\nWhat You Will Do\nSoftware Development & Maintenance\nSupport the development and maintenance of Quality Control applications using technologies such as Python, Next.js, Power Apps, and related tools.\nDevelop and enhance application features based on defined business and Quality requirements.\nTroubleshoot software issues and support the implementation of corrective improvements.\nWrite clear, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development practices.\nParticipate in code reviews, testing, version control, and application deployment activities.\nQC Systems & Automation\nSupport and maintain digital Quality platforms such as CheckIT, SolveIT, and the CoolIT Issue Tracker.\nAssist with the automation of inspection workflows and other manual Quality processes.\nWork with QC team members to understand operational needs and translate them into practical digital solutions.\nSupport system testing and validation before new features or changes are released.\nIdentify opportunities to improve system usability, efficiency, and data accuracy.\nCloud & System Integration\nSupport cloud-based QC applications using Microsoft Azure and related services.\nAssist with APIs and integrations connecting Quality applications with databases and other company systems.\nSupport troubleshooting of application and integration issues.\nFollow established IT, cybersecurity, and system development standards and requirements.\nData & Reporting\nDevelop and maintain SQL queries, datasets, and basic data models used by Quality applications and reports.\nSupport Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools used to monitor Quality performance.\nAssist with maintaining accurate and reliable data across QC systems.\nSupport the development of automated reports and data visualization solutions.\nCross-Functional Support\nCollaborate with Quality, IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, and other teams to support digital improvement initiatives.\nGather and document requirements from internal users.\nParticipate in testing, implementation, and continuous improvement activities.\nProvide user support and documentation for QC digital tools.\nCommunicate technical issues and proposed solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nSystem Documentation & Compliance\nMaintain technical documentation, user guides, and system change records.\nFollow established version control and software development practices.\nSupport data traceability and audit readiness within Quality systems.\nFollow company IT, cybersecurity, and data governance requirements.\nPosition Details\nLocation: Calgary, Alberta\nHybrid work arrangement in accordance with CoolIT company policy. \nMinimum Qualifications\nThe position requires a Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Systems Analysis and Development, Data Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. \n0-2 years of software development, automation, systems, or data-related experience.\nRelevant co-op, internship, academic, or project experience will be considered. \nWorking knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript. \nBasic understanding of web application development and modern development frameworks.\nFoundational knowledge of SQL and relational databases. \nFamiliarity with Git or other version control tools. \nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nThe ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and operational teams.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExposure to Microsoft Azure or other cloud platforms.\nExperience or familiarity with Next.js, Power Apps, Power BI, or similar technologies. \nExposure to APIs and system integrations. \nPrevious experience, internship, or project work completed in a manufacturing or industrial environment. \nFamiliarity with ERP, MES, Quality Management Systems, or other enterprise software applications. \nAn understanding of manufacturing quality concepts, traceability, or ISO 9001 requirements. \nFamiliarity with CI/CD concepts and modern software development practices. \nAn interest in automation, data analytics, AI/ML, and digital transformation initiatives. \nWe thank every candidate in advance;
