This role is responsible formaintainingand improving released products, approving second source components, supporting manufacturing and field operations, resolving product issues, and executing engineering changes.\nThe ideal candidate possessesstrong mechanical engineering fundamentals, practical problemsolvingskills, and experience working crossfunctionally with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Service, and Product Development teams.\nThe Mechanical Sustaining Engineer will focus on ensuring production products continue to meet customer, quality, cost, reliability, and performance objectivesthroughout their lifecycle. The role is primarily focused on Coolant Distribution Units (CDUs).\nResponsibilities:\nSupport released CDU products throughout their lifecycle, ensuring continued performance, quality, reliability, and manufacturability. \nInvestigate product, manufacturing, supplier, and field issues and perform root cause analysis to identify and implement corrective actions. \nCreate and implement Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) and Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) to support product improvements, component changes, and issue resolution. \nProvide day to day engineering support to Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Service teams. \nSupport resolution of production issues related to assembly, testing, quality, and component availability. \nIdentify and qualify alternate components to address obsolescence, supply constraints, and cost reduction opportunities. \nPerform engineering calculations, root cause analysis, tolerance analysis, reliability assessments, and engineering evaluations. \nDevelop, execute, and document engineering validation testing to verify product performance and design changes. \nIdentify and conduct VAVE opportunities. \nCreate, review, and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, bills of materials, specifications, test reports, and work instructions. \nCollaborate with suppliers to resolve technical issues and support component qualification activities. \nParticipate in design reviews, failure reviews, FMEA activities, and corrective action investigations. \nProvide technical support for customer meetings, field investigations, factory testing, and product deployments as required. \nBasic Qualifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical degree.\nInterested in working at a fast moving tech company.\nFocused on making high quality products and using smart design methods (DFM/DFA/DFS).\n3-7 years of mechanical engineering experience in product development, sustaining engineering, manufacturing engineering, or related disciplines.\nDemonstratable experience with stainless steel/aluminum, fabrication & welding techniques.\nExperience supporting production products and resolving technical issues in a manufacturing environment.\nExperience creating and implementing engineering changes (ECRs/ECNs).\nExperience conducting root cause investigations and corrective actions.\nExperience working with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams. \nMust be legally eligible to work in Canada\nPreferredQualifications:\nPEng qualification or have eligibility to attain. \nExperience in thermal analysis, CFD, structural FEA, and dFMEA\nDemonstratable experience of pump & heat exchanger, valve selection & verification.\nFamiliarity with GD&T; experience with Solidworks PDM and Arena PLM\nBase knowledge of data center cooling strategies\nSkills:\nOrganized and able to manage tasks well.\nCan communicate clearly in writing and speaking.\nGood at solving problems and thinking critically.\nWHY COOLIT?\nWe strive to be an employer of choice and as such we believe in rewarding our employees with career and development opportunities that will maintain and strengthen our culture while aligning to our vision and values.\nWe are a company that is full of vibrant, innovative people who love what we do.
