The role requires strong coordination with multidisciplinary teams and active participation in both design and execution phases.\nKey Responsibilities\nSupport the development of process design for water and wastewater systems across all project phases (FEL, FEED, EPC).\nIdentify raw water requirements and characterize process effluents in coordination with process teams and clients.\nSelect and evaluate appropriate water treatment technologies to meet process and discharge requirements.\nDevelop and validate water balances, process schemes, and system configurations.\nPerform process calculations and simulations to support equipment selection and system design.\nSize key equipment such as storage tanks, treatment units, and utility systems.\nPrepare and review process deliverables including PFDs, P&IDs, process design specifications (PDS), and technical reports.\nSupport the evaluation of water reuse and recycling strategies to optimize water consumption.\nEnsure alignment between process design, environmental regulations, and project requirements.\nCollaborate with internal disciplines (mechanical, electrical, civil, automation) and external partners.\nSupport procurement activities through preparation of technical specifications and review of vendor documentation.\nContribute to commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting activities when required.\nTypical Activities\nPreparation of process documentation (BFD, PFD, P&ID, process notes).\nDevelopment of water balances and treatment concepts for industrial facilities.\nEquipment sizing and process calculations.\nProcess simulation and performance validation.\nEvaluation of treatment technologies (filtration, biological, chemical treatment, reuse systems).\nParticipation in technical meetings with clients, partners, and suppliers.\nSupport to tender preparation (technical scope definition, cost inputs, technical clarifications).\nContribution to design reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.\nOccasional support to site activities, commissioning, and performance troubleshooting.\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or related discipline.\nProven experience in water treatment process engineering within industrial projects.\nExperience in FEED and/or EPC project environments is highly desirable.\nStrong understanding of water and wastewater treatment technologies.\nExperience in preparation of process documentation (PFDs, P&IDs, technical reports).\nFamiliarity with process simulation tools and engineering calculations.\nExperience working with international standards and environmental regulations is an advantage.\nExposure to project execution, commissioning, or site activities is a plus.\nCore Competencies\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\nStructured and detail-oriented approach\nAbility to work in multidisciplinary and international teams\nGood communication and coordination skills\nProactive mindset with focus on practical solutions and delivery\nWhat is the value of the business opportunities/pipeline and any key clients he will support?\nThe Process Engineer will support a portfolio of strategic greenfield projects within Ecolab’s European pipeline, focused on complex industrial water treatment systems and process integration.
