Ensures that the correct packaging materials are available. Ensures that the correct Personal Protective Equipment is available and other safety procedures are understood and followed, asking Supervisor for assistance, if needed.\nEnsures that the line is set up correctly per the filling and packaging instructions. Adjusts the line as necessary or asks Supervisor or Maintenance Tech for assistance.\nOperates filling and packaging equipment continually. Types of equipment could include filler, sleeve labeler, cappers, tape machine, bar coders, ink jet printer, hand wrenches, hand stamps, palletizers, and lid presses. Adjusts equipment to control weight, closures, or other as required by the specifications.\nPerforms all operations on the lines, including loading lines with empty containers, labeling, filling, capping, bar coder generation, taking samples, keeping area clean and organized and other related activities.\nActively participate in Kaizens, 5S and special projects\nContinually identify opportunities for system and process waste elimination\nCompletes and documents activities that measure quality and productivity in an accurate and timely manner. This could include taking weights and performing basic quality tests. Enters results on paper or in computer.\nCompletes packaging and filling assignment meeting or exceeding the standards.\nAssists with line changeover, including the collection of wash water.\nUsing a forklift to move product within the plant\nMaintains a clean and safe work environment.\nIncumbents in this position should have the ability to perform any of the tasks within the production department, with the exception of mixing and bulk receiving/shipping.\nPosition Details:\nPlant location: Mississauga, ON (Eglinton/Tomken)\nWork week and shift: Monday to Friday, 6:30AM - 3:00PM\nContract Details: This is a 12-month contract\nMinimum Qualifications:\nHigh School diploma or equivalent\nExperience in plant or warehouse is an asset\nAbility to use basic math, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions, percentages, and decimals\nPositive and helping attitude\nNo immigration sponsorship available for this role\nPhysical Demands:\nMust be able to lift/carry 50 pounds\nWork is carried out in a plant environment with continuous exposure to disagreeable elements of the plant such as noise, and occasional exposure to chemicals. The role may be exposed to extreme temperatures and may be exposed to chemicals.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPost secondary degree/diploma\nCertified Forklift Driver or experience\nAbility to complete training and master skills that are required by position (including but not limited to Hazardous Material Safety and TDG training)\nAbility to understand and track safety, quality and productivity data, including run rates, fill weights, and averages\nMechanical aptitude\nExperience with Total Production Management (TPM) & Continuous Improvement Systems\nStrong attention to detail, good communicator and a team member\nAbility to meet physical requirements of position\nThis is a new position\nAnnual or Hourly Compensation Range:\n$23.13/ hour. This position pays an hourly rate and is eligible for overtime.\nEcolab in good faith anticipates it will pay within the posted range.
