The Project Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and supporting capital projects, reliability improvements, and operational initiatives within a chemical manufacturing facility. This role serves as a key link between Engineering, Reliability, Production, Maintenance, Safety, and Quality teams to improve equipment reliability, production performance, process safety, and operational efficiency.\nThe Project Engineer leads projects from concept through commissioning while supporting day-to-day manufacturing operations by identifying and implementing sustainable solutions that improve equipment availability, reduce downtime, increase OEE, and support long-term asset health.\nWhat You Will Do:\nCapital Project Management\nManage capital and expense projects from concept development through startup and closeout.\nDevelop project scopes, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.\nCoordinate engineering design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project documentation.\nManage contractors, vendors, and equipment suppliers during project execution.\nPrepare cost estimates, funding requests, and project justifications.\nTrack project progress and communicate status to stakeholders.\nReliability Improvement\nPartner with Reliability Engineers and Maintenance teams to improve asset reliability and equipment performance.\nConduct root cause analyses for chronic failures and recurring downtime events.\nDevelop and implement corrective actions that eliminate repeated equipment issues.\nSupport predictive, preventive, and condition-based maintenance programs.\nIdentify opportunities to improve MTBF, reduce MTTR, and increase equipment availability.\nParticipate in bad actor reviews and reliability improvement initiatives.\nProduction Support\nWork closely with Production leaders to improve OEE, throughput, quality, and operational efficiency.\nSupport process troubleshooting during equipment and production issues.\nIdentify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.\nAssist with production line upgrades, expansions, and optimization projects.\nSupport startup and commissioning of new equipment and process modifications.\nProcess Safety & Regulatory Compliance\nParticipate in Management of Change (MOC) activities for equipment and process modifications.\nSupport Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) and HAZOP reviews.\nEnsure projects comply with OSHA PSM, EPA, NFPA, ASME, and company standards.\nAssist with Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR).\nPromote a strong safety culture throughout project execution and daily operations.\nEngineering & Technical Support\nDevelop and maintain: Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) Equipment specifications Engineering drawings Technical documentation\nReview vendor designs and equipment proposals.\nSupport equipment selection and technology evaluations.\nProvide technical guidance to operations and maintenance personnel.\nContinuous Improvement\nLead cost reduction and operational excellence initiatives.\nSupport Lean Manufacturing and TPM activities.\nIdentify opportunities to improve: Reliability Productivity Safety Energy efficiency Maintenance effectiveness\nParticipate in annual capital planning and strategic improvement efforts.\nMinimum Qualifications:\nBachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering discipline\n3 years of engineering experience in a chemical, petrochemical, specialty chemical, food process, or industrial manufacturing environment\nExperience managing capital projects\nExperience supporting manufacturing operations\nNo immigration sponsorship is available for this role\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) License\nProject Management Professional (PMP) Certification\nReliability engineering experience\nExperience with TPM, Lean Manufacturing, or Six Sigma\nExperience with CMMS systems such as SAP, Maximo, or Infor\nKnowledge of OSHA PSM and MOC processes\nAnnual or Hourly Compensation Range\nThe pay range for this position is $85,900.00 - $128,900.00.
