We are looking for someone with experience in mechanical assembly manufacturing, structured problem solving, and supplier quality management. This role will report to the Manager of Supplier Quality. Quality is at the forefront of everything we do at CoolIT. This role presents the candidate with the opportunity to make a significant contribution to and be rewarded for achieving the CoolIT business goals.\nWork collaboratively with suppliers to ensure on-time delivery of quality parts and assemblies that meet CooIIT engineering specifications and manufacturing requirements.\n\nWork proactively with supply chain, manufacturing, quality, and engineering teams to define requirements and ensure supplier material, manufacturing and quality systems are capable of meeting requirements and preventing supplier quality issues.\n\nPerform on-site supplier audits to validate compliance with quality standards.\n\nEstablish and maintain data-based relationship with suppliers to provide visibility and support where needed.\n\nReview and approve Supplier PPAP submissions and updates.\n\nActively participate in PFMEA and Control Plan development with suppliers to ensure they capture and mitigate potential risks.\n\nManage supplier quality issues using 8D methodology to define the problem, assure effective containment, find root cause, verify and validate corrective actions, and prevent recurrence.\n\nAct as single point of contact between suppliers and CoolIT to ensure effective, efficient communication.\n\nMinimum Qualifications:\nPost-secondary Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math\n\nMinimum of 5 years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer\n\nDemonstrated experience with AIAG Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nBASc. / BEng. degree or higher in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering\n\nCombined 5 years experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer at a Tier 1 automotive or consumer electronics supplier or OEM\n\nLean Six Sigma and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) training\n\nDemonstrated ability to improve supplier quality performance during a period of business growth and rapidly increasing production volumes\n\nSkills:\nAPQP, PPAP, AIAG Methods: Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement Systems Analysis (GR&R), Statistical Capability and Capacity Analysis\n\nStructured problem solving, one or more of: 8D, PDCA, DMAIC, 5P\n\nDesign Controls: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Stack-up Tolerance Analysis (STA)\n\nStatistical Process Capability & Control (SPC), Statistical Engineering Methods including Design of Experiments (DOE)\n\nSupplier Auditing, Scorecards, Quality Improvement Plans, Continuous Improvement\n\nExcellent teamwork and collaboration capabilities, Strong Project Management skills\n\nEffective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.\n\nStrong sense of urgency and responsiveness to ensure commitments are met.\n\nAbility to travel up to 40% of the time.\n\nWHY COOLIT?\nWe strive to be an employer of choice and as such we believe in rewarding our employees with career and development opportunities that will maintain and strengthen our culture while aligning to our vision and values.\nWe thank every candidate in advance, however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
