This position reports to the Advanced Quality Manager.\nWhat’s in it For You\nDay 1 Coverage: Employer-paid comprehensive benefits, including dental, prescription drug, vision, paramedical coverage, and a $1,000 annual Health Spending Account.\nRRSP: 2% employer-sponsored contribution.\nEnjoy three weeks of vacation, six flex days, and a one-week paid company-wide holiday shutdown.\n$1,000 Annual professional development allowance to support your ongoing learning, skill development, and career growth. \nDress for your day in a casual, professional environment.\nWhat You Will Do\nDrive mechanical quality planning activities across all phases of New Product Introduction (NPI), ensuring robust design and manufacturing processes from concept through production launch.\nConduct detailed mechanical design reviews of CAD models, drawings, specifications, tolerances, materials, interfaces, and engineering changes (ECNs) to identify and mitigate product quality risks. \nAssess dimensional and tolerance-related risks, including drawing requirements, tolerance stack-ups, fit/function, measurement feasibility, and capability considerations. \nPerform design-for-manufacturability (DFM) assessments for mechanical parts (metal, plastic, and seal components, including machining, welding, injection molding, fabrication, and related manufacturing processes).\nLead and support APQP deliverables, including DFMEA, PFMEA, Control Plans, process validation, and PPAP activities, ensuring mechanical design risks are effectively translated into manufacturing controls. \nPartner with Design Engineering, suppliers, and other cross-functional teams to establish robust mechanical requirements, critical-to-quality characteristics, inspection criteria, and acceptance methods. \nSupport early identification and mitigation of product and process risks across the development lifecycle.\nCollect and analyze quality and process data using statistical methods to evaluate capability, identify trends, and drive risk-reduction and improvement actions. \nLead root cause analysis, implement corrective and preventive actions using structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D).\nAct as a subject matter expert (SME) for mechanical quality and manufacturability, providing cross-functional guidance and supporting continuous improvement of quality planning practices. \nMaintain quality planning and validation documentation in accordance with internal quality systems, applicable standards, and customer requirements. \nMinimum Qualifications\nMaster’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.\n5+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Mechanical Engineering within a manufacturing environment, including 1+ years in a senior or lead role, and experience supporting product development and/or NPI.\nStrong knowledge of mechanical design principles, engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerance analysis, materials, and dimensional inspection methods. \nPractical understanding of manufacturing processes for metal, plastic, and seal components, including machining, welding, injection molding, fabrication, and related processes. \nMust be legally eligible to work in Canada without company sponsorship.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nExperience with APQP tools (e.g., PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, MSA).\nHands-on experience with design-for-manufacturability (DFM) and mechanical component validation.\nExperience working with suppliers on tooling, process readiness, qualification, and resolution of mechanical quality issues. \nISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification.\nLean Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE).\nRegistered or eligible for registration with APEGA is considered an asset.\nSkills (competencies):\nStrong mechanical design review and manufacturability assessment capability.\nStrong systems-level technical thinking across product design, component interfaces, and manufacturing processes.\nAbility to interpret complex engineering drawings, specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing requirements.\nStrong project management, prioritization, and execution abilities.\nExcellent cross-functional collaboration and ability to influence technical decisions.\nClear and effective verbal and written communication.\nStructured risk identification, technical problem-solving, and data-driven decision-making.\nHigh ownership, accountability, attention to detail and discipline.\nWe thank every candidate in advance; however, we will contact only those selected for an interview.
