This role combines strong technical expertise with customer-facing consulting and commercial support responsibilities.\nThe successful candidate will combine scientific expertise, practical experience, customer-facing consulting skills, and a passion for solving complex industrial challenges. Experience with advanced analytical and digital tools is beneficial but not a prerequisite for success in the role.\nThe position support customers across a diverse range of markets including industrial water treatment, pharmaceutical processing, food and beverage, energy, microelectronics, and emerging applications such as PFAS removal and resource recovery.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Sales Support\nDeliver technical support for a wide range of ion exchange, adsorbent, and catalyst applications.\nAssist in evaluating customer processes, identifying opportunities for resin optimization and value creation through data analysis, site audits, technical reviews and digital tools.\nAssist customers with commissioning, start-up support, operational optimization, investigation and solutions for customer performance issues.\nSupport sales teams with product selection, troubleshooting, and application recommendations.\nPartner with regional sales managers and account managers to identify and develop new business opportunities.\nProvide technical expertise during customer visits, presentations, bid preparation, and proposal development.\nSupport process evaluations and design calculations using PRSM and other internal technical tools. Training will be provided.\nApplication Development & Innovation\nSupport, coordinate, and where appropriate conduct laboratory and pilot-scale studies in collaboration with application and R&D teams.\nCollaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Marketing teams to support new product introductions and application development projects.\nContribute technical insights to innovation pipelines.\nSupport validation of new technologies and commercial deployment activities.\nTraining & Knowledge Transfer\nDeliver technical seminars, customer workshops, and internal training programs.\nDevelop technical reports, case studies, application guides, and customer-facing documentation.\nDevelop and maintain strong technical expertise in ion exchange and related separation technologies and serve as a trusted technical resource for customers and internal teams.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Polymer Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Water Technology, Environmental Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.\nMinimum 3 years of experience in technical consulting, applications engineering, process engineering, water treatment, or related industrial technologies.\nStrong understanding of chemistry and industrial process applications.\nFluent written and spoken English.\nValid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Europe.\nExcellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multinational team.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster's degree or PhD in Polymer Chemistry, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Water Technology, Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline.\nExperience with ion exchange resins, adsorbents, membrane systems, or separation technologies.\nKnowledge of industrial water treatment, demineralization, ultrapure water, power generation, PFAS removal, food & beverage processing, hydrometallurgy, pharmaceutical, or specialty chemical applications.\nHands-on laboratory experience including experimental design, pilot testing, and data interpretation.\nExperience with analytical techniques such as:\no HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography)\no GC (Gas Chromatography)\no IC (Ion Chromatography)\no AA (Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy)\no ICP-OES / ICP-MS (Inductively Coupled Plasma Spectroscopy)\nExperience with these analytical techniques is desirable but not required.\nExperience using data analysis and visualization tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, or similar platforms is considered an advantage but is not required.\nAdditional European language skills (German, French, Spanish, Italian).\nExperience supporting commercial sales organizations and presenting technical solutions to customers.\nExperience delivering technical training, presentations, or customer workshops.\nWhat We Offe r\nOpportunity to join the world's leading ion exchange and specialty resin manufacturer.\nExposure to cutting-edge technologies and high-growth markets.\nCollaborative international environment.\nCompetitive compensation package.\nProfessional development and career advancement.\nFlexibility to work across diverse industries and customer applications throughout Europe and the Middle East.\nAbout Ecolab\n At Ecolab, we prioritize our talent-first philosophy by creating the most capable and diverse team to excel at our nearly three million customer sites.
