As the one-stop-shop leader for traffic management systems, sensor products, and services, Econolite is committed to the advancement of connected and autonomous vehicles, smart cities, and cybersecurity.\nThe Senior Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, security, and lifecycle management of communications networks supporting Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS), and mobility solutions. This role within Econolite's Professional Services Group focuses on translating project requirements into secure and reliable network solutions, integrating field devices and ATMS platforms, and providing technical leadership throughout project delivery. Candidates should possess strong networking expertise, cybersecurity knowledge, and the ability to support complex, distributed transportation networks while building trusted customer relationships.\nDUTIES:\nDesign, implement, and optimize network architectures supporting ITS, ATMS, Centracs® Mobility, field devices, and regional communications systems.\nConfigure and deploy enterprise and industrial network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless systems, and remote communications equipment.\nIntegrate traffic controllers, detection systems, video systems, sensors, and other field devices with traffic management platforms.\nImplement cybersecurity controls and network security best practices to support resilient and secure transportation systems.\nDevelop and execute network testing, validation, and acceptance procedures to ensure successful system deployment.\nTroubleshoot network performance, connectivity, interoperability, and security issues across distributed customer environments.\nProvide technical guidance, training, and support to customers, stakeholders, and project teams.\nCollaborate with Project Managers, Systems Consultants, and Quality teams to ensure coordinated project execution and successful customer acceptance.\nCreate and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, test reports, and deployment procedures.\nMonitor and evaluate network performance using management and diagnostic tools to identify opportunities for improvement.\nMentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership across project teams.\nMaintain clear and professional communication with customers and stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.\n8-15 years of progressive experience designing, deploying, and supporting enterprise or industrial network infrastructures.\nExperience supporting large-scale, multi-site, distributed communications networks.\nHands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or equivalent networking platforms.\nStrong understanding of TCP/IP networking, routing, switching, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS, OSPF, spanning tree, and Quality of Service (QoS).\nExperience configuring and supporting routers, switches, firewalls, wireless networks, and remote communications technologies.\nKnowledge of network segmentation, firewall policies, network access control (NAC), and cybersecurity best practices.\nExperience with fiber optic, Ethernet, cellular, and wireless communication technologies.\nFamiliarity with network monitoring and diagnostic tools including SNMP, Syslog, packet capture, and network management platforms.\nUnderstanding of virtualization technologies, cloud networking principles, and hybrid infrastructure environments.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.\nExperience providing technical leadership, mentoring, and customer-facing support.\nValid driver's license required.\nAbility to work in office, field, and operational environments, including Traffic Management Centers (TMCs) and active roadway locations.\nAbility to lift and carry equipment up to 40 pounds.\nAbility to travel 25% to 50% as required for project and customer support activities.\nPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS\nPrimarily an office-based role requiring prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds and travel occasionally for meetings, training, or company events as needed.\nPRE-EMPLOYMENT\nAll candidates who accept employment will be subject to a background investigation and drug screening. For applicable roles, candidates who accept employment will also be subject to a Motor\nVehicle/Driving Record screening.\nCOMPENSATION\nThe base pay range for this full-time exempt position is $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year plus benefits. Pay ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The pay range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire base pay rates for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.\nBENEFITS\nThis role is eligible for benefits: weekly pay, weekly PTO accrual, paid holidays.
