Read on to learn more about the opportunity and how you can have a positive impact!\n\nAbout the Role\nThe UK&I Financial Control Team’s purpose is accurate and timely financial reporting for all legal entities within UK&I. This includes extensive Group as well as statutory audit requirements, and our aim is to be a world class record to report function!\nKey Responsibilities:\nKey contributor to the delivery of the external Group and UKI statutory audits partnering with external auditors with the aim to find efficiencies and deliver a high quality audit on time for all entities.\n\nLead and contribute to significant departmental initiatives, including improving the control environment, redesigning and standardising workflows (leveraging automation and AI tools), and integrating newly acquired entities into existing finance processes.\n\nServe as a subject matter expert on core finance systems and reporting tools, acting as a key point of contact for system knowledge, troubleshooting, and process guidance.\n\nReconcile multi-currency intercompany accounts within a complex, matrixed environment.\n\nReview assigned account reconciliations, journal entries, and audit samples prior to submission to external auditors.\n\nPlay a key role in delivering the monthly close, including analyzing transactions, identifying issues, and preparing complex or judgmental journal entries fully supported by clear working papers suitable for management review and audit scrutiny.\n\nChampion thorough documentation and serve as a pillar for change, promoting best practices, driving process improvements, and fostering a culture of continuous learning and adaptability within the team.\n\nTake a proactive approach to risk and control management, ensuring accounting risks and issues are identified early, addressed effectively, and escalated when necessary.\n\nProvide mentoring, training, and technical guidance to junior team members, fostering capability building, knowledge transfer, and effective onboarding.\n\nSupport the broader accounting function as needed, undertaking additional responsibilities and projects aligned with business priorities.\n\nWhat we're looking for:\nQualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent), with strong grounding in financial accounting and month-end close.\n\nPrior experience working as external auditor, preferably within a Big 4 or mid tier firm.\n\nStrong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS accounting standards including points of difference, with the ability to apply guidance using sound judgement in ambiguous or non-standard scenarios.\n\nDemonstrated ability to work independently, identify issues, and drive problems through to resolution without requiring detailed instruction.\n\nComfortable operating in a fast-paced, changing environment, with the ability to prioritize, manage ambiguity, and adapt as requirements evolve.\n\nAdvanced MS Excel skills and experience working with ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics F&O preferred).\n\nCommunication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills including to external stakeholders.\n\nDeadline-driven, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality outputs within strict timelines.\n\nStrong attention to detail, analytical capability, and numerical aptitude.\n\nExposure to multi-entity or multi-currency accounting.\n\nOur Benefits:\nWe offer a variety of global benefits which are listed below!
