We are a team of engineers, technologists, and scientists who take pride in delivering quality work, in the field and in the office.\nPRI is seeking an Intermediate Civil Technologist to join our Surrey, BC team. In this role, you will support civil engineering design, drafting, and construction administration across a wide range of project types, including residential and commercial development, municipal infrastructure, transportation projects, and land development. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technologist to advance their career within a collaborative, multi-disciplinary firm that values technical depth, field excellence, and professional growth.\nWhat you’ll own\nPrepare and update civil engineering drawings, including site plans, grading plans, and servicing plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and develop detailed designs for roads, storm and sanitary sewer systems, watermains, and site servicing.\nPerform quantity takeoffs, cost estimates, and technical calculations, including site grading, drainage analysis, and erosion and sediment control design, in coordination with project engineers.\nConduct field surveys, site assessments, and as-built verification, and perform construction inspection and contract administration, including review of contractor work for compliance with design drawings and specifications.\nMonitor and document construction progress and quality assurance activities, and liaise with contractors, municipal staff, and clients throughout construction.\nPrepare technical reports, design briefs, and servicing memos, and compile design, survey, and construction records to support municipal and regulatory submissions.\nAdhere to PRI’s Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and project-specific safety plans, including daily tailgate meetings and field hazard assessments.\nWhat you bring\nRequired\nDiploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a closely related discipline.\nMinimum 3-5 years of civil engineering experience in a consulting environment.\nRegistered or eligible for registration as an Applied Science Technologist (AScT) or Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) through ASTTBC.\nDemonstrated experience with civil site design, including grading, servicing, and stormwater management.\nProficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and strong understanding of municipal design standards and the BC Building Code.\nValid BC driver’s licence and reliable access to transportation.\nAbility to work in varied field environments and conditions, including active construction sites.\nPreferred\nExperience with construction administration and contract review.\nFamiliarity with municipal approval processes and servicing agreements across Lower Mainland municipalities.\nExperience with land development or subdivision design.\nProficiency with ArcGIS or similar technical software.\nFirst Aid certification (OFA Level 1 or higher).\nExperience working on BC Transportation, municipal infrastructure, or residential development projects.\nWhy PRI\nCompetitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.\nComprehensive group benefits package, including extended health, dental, and vision coverage.\nSupport for professional development, including registration fees, training, and continuing education.\nA collaborative, team-focused culture that values both technical excellence and individual growth.\nExposure to a diverse portfolio of challenging and meaningful projects across BC and beyond.\nOpportunities for career advancement within a growing, multi-disciplinary firm.\nPRI is an equal-opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
