We are hiring an Intermediate Forest Analyst to join our Forestry & Inventory team, based out of one of our offices.\nThis is a varied role that combines office-based analysis, landscape modelling, and reporting, with potential for periodic fieldwork, including data collection for forest inventories and ecosystem mapping. You will support the delivery of strategic plans including forest management plans, forest inventories, carbon assessments, Ecosystem Goods and Services evaluations, biodiversity appraisals, and habitat management baselines and projections for a diverse portfolio of public and private sector clients across Canada.\nYou will work alongside senior foresters, ecologists, GIS specialists, and project managers on a broad range of forestry, land management, and cumulative impact and environmental assessment projects. You will report to the Practice Lead, Forestry & Inventory and grow into more senior technical roles as you build your experience.\nWhat you'll do\nUndertake and collaborate with team members on forest estate modelling and resource management planning projects using Forest Estate Models (Patchworks, Remsoft Spatial Planning Suite, STSM, SELES)\nConduct spatial analysis using ESRI/open-source products (PostgreSQL/POSTGIS)\nUndertake data and statistical analysis (R, Python, Excel), growth and yield modelling (FPS, FVS, TASS, TIPSY, VDYP, GYPSY, MGM), and carbon modelling (GCBM, CBM)\nInterpret and apply land use, forest inventory, and policy data\nCollaborate with multidisciplinary teams on sustainable forest management, carbon analysis, and Indigenous-led stewardship and planning projects\nPrepare high-quality technical reports and presentations for clients, government agencies, and stakeholders\nSupport senior staff in preparing bids, proposals, and project deliverables to agreed timescales and budgets\nMaintain accurate project records, field notes, and document management in line with company QA procedures\nMentor junior analysts and contribute to the development of analytical tools and workflows\nWhat you bring\nRequired\nDegree or equivalent qualification in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or a closely related discipline\nMinimum 3+ years of relevant experience in forest landscape analysis and modelling\nProficiency in spatial analysis, modelling software, and data visualization tools\nStrong problem-solving, communication, and project management skills, with the ability to produce professional technical reports\nKnowledge of forest management frameworks and legislation within BC and other jurisdictions\nFull driving licence and willingness to travel for fieldwork, including to remote locations\nRight to work in Canada without requiring visa sponsorship\nPreferred\nConsulting industry experience\nRPF designation, or eligibility for registration\nWhy PRI\nVaried work across forest management planning, carbon assessment, and environmental impact analysis for public and private sector clients across Canada\nA collaborative, multidisciplinary team environment working alongside foresters, ecologists, GIS specialists, and project managers\nGenuine mentorship and a growth path toward senior technical and RPF-eligible roles\nExposure to Indigenous-led stewardship and planning projects alongside traditional forest management work\nExtended health and dental, RRSP matching, and professional dues paid\nPRI is an equal-opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team.
