This is a hands-on role for someone building toward full project ownership: you will take on your own scopes of work under the guidance of senior engineers, and grow into leading projects and sealing your own work over time.\nThe work spans land development, buildings, municipal and transportation infrastructure, and mining, including dams and tailings storage facilities. Seismic assessment is central to the role, as it is to any consequential geotechnical work in this region.\nWhat you'll do\nSupport geotechnical projects from scoping and site investigation through analysis, design, reporting, and construction support, under the direction of senior staff.\nCarry out design work for foundations, settlement, slope stability, retaining and shoring systems, earthworks, and ground improvement.\nContribute to seismic assessment work, including site classification, liquefaction triggering and mitigation, seismic slope stability, and seismic design parameters.\nSupport geotechnical work on dams and tailings storage facilities, including stability and seepage analysis and instrumentation review, under senior oversight.\nPlan and carry out site investigations, and interpret field and laboratory data into practical, constructible recommendations.\nPrepare reports, designs, and field review documentation for review and sealing by a senior engineer.\nSupport scope, budget, and schedule tracking on assigned projects, and help mentor EITs and junior technologists as your experience grows.\nWhat you bring\nP.Eng. registered with provincial governing body.\nDegree in Civil or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical specialization.\nMinimum 4 years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience.\nWorking knowledge of seismic concepts, including site classification and liquefaction assessment, under the provincial Building Codes.\nExposure to dam or tailings work is an asset, including stability and seepage analysis, or familiarity with Canadian Dam Association guidelines.\nProficiency with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Settle3, PLAXIS, LPile, FLAC or gINT.\nStrong technical writing and communication skills, with a collaborative, team-based approach.\nValid driver's license, and willingness to travel to project and mine sites, including remote work.\nWhy PRI\nMeaningful project experience, with the multidisciplinary depth and in-house materials testing laboratories of a national firm behind you.\nTechnically demanding work across development, infrastructure, and mining, including dams and tailings facilities.\nA growing Vancouver office with strong mentorship and a clear path toward senior and principal roles.\nCompetitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and support for professional development.\nPRI is a multidisciplinary engineering and natural sciences consulting firm with offices across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.
