This is a hands-on senior role: you will lead projects end to end, seal your own work, and mentor the engineers and technologists around you.\nThe work spans land development, buildings, municipal and transportation infrastructure, and mining, including dams and tailings storage facilities. Seismic assessment is central to the role, as it is to any consequential geotechnical work in this region.\nWhat you'll do\nLead geotechnical projects from scoping and site investigation through analysis, design, reporting, and construction support.\nDirect design of foundations, settlement, slope stability, retaining and shoring systems, earthworks, and ground improvement.\nLead seismic assessment, including site classification, liquefaction triggering and mitigation, seismic slope stability, and seismic design parameters.\nProvide geotechnical leadership on dams and tailings storage facilities, including Dam Safety Review input, stability and seepage analysis, and instrumentation review.\nPlan and direct site investigations, and interpret field and laboratory data into practical, constructible recommendations.\nTake professional responsibility for your work, sealing reports, designs, and field reviews under EGBC practice requirements.\nManage scope, budget, schedule, and fees, and mentor intermediate engineers, EITs, and technologists.\nWhat you bring\nP.Eng. registered with EGBC, or immediately eligible for registration in BC or AB.\nDegree in Civil or Geological Engineering with a geotechnical specialization; a graduate degree is an asset.\nMinimum 8 years of progressive geotechnical consulting experience, leading and sealing your own projects.\nDemonstrated seismic experience, including site classification, liquefaction assessment and mitigation, and seismic design parameters under the BC Building Code.\nDam or tailings experience is a strong asset, including dam safety work, stability and seepage analysis, or familiarity with the Canadian Dam Association guidelines.\nProficiency with geotechnical software such as GeoStudio, Settle3, PLAXIS, LPile, or gINT.\nStrong technical writing, client communication, and project management ability.\nClass 5 BC driver's license, and willingness to travel to project and mine sites, including remote work.\nWhy PRI\nReal project ownership, with the multidisciplinary depth and in-house materials testing laboratories of a national firm behind you.\nTechnically demanding work across development, infrastructure, and mining, including dams and tailings facilities.\nA growing Vancouver office with a clear path toward Principal and practice leadership roles.\nCompetitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and support for professional development and EGBC obligations.\nPRI is a multidisciplinary engineering and natural sciences consulting firm with offices across British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and Nova Scotia.
