This position leads projects from early concept through execution-team handoff, establishes preconstruction plans and decision milestones, manages cost and design progression, and aligns scope, budget, schedule, constructability, procurement, and risk. The Design-Build Preconstruction Manager develops client relationships, leads multidisciplinary coordination, maintains estimate quality and cost-history resources, directs assigned estimators, and supports competitive Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and Requests for Qualifications (RFQs.).\nLead complex design-build and preconstruction efforts from pursuit through project handoff, ensuring alignment of scope, budget, schedule, and client objectives.\nProvide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to estimators and project team members while driving accountability, quality, and performance.\nCollaborate effectively with clients, design teams, operations, subcontractors, and business development partners to achieve successful project outcomes.\nLead design-build, design-assist, GMP, and conceptual estimating processes, developing accurate budgets, cost models, and pricing strategies throughout project development.\nManage cost, risk, value engineering, constructability reviews, procurement planning, and cost reconciliation to support informed project decisions.\nEnsure seamless transition from preconstruction to operations by documenting assumptions, risks, procurement status, and project commitments.\nDevelop and oversee complete, accurate, and competitive estimates, proposals, budgets, and negotiated project submissions.\nAnalyze plans, specifications, contracts, and project documents to identify scope gaps, risks, constructability concerns, and cost impacts.\nLead estimate reviews, subcontractor and supplier evaluations, quality control processes, and executive presentations of project recommendations.\nDrive continuous improvement through development of estimating standards, cost databases, quality control procedures, and preconstruction best practices.\nMonitor market conditions, labor trends, material pricing, and supplier capacity to provide strategic cost and procurement guidance.\nSupport business development efforts through client presentations, project interviews, pursuit strategies, and RFQ/RFP responses.\nOther Duties as assigned. *\n*please reach out to  for full job description.\nRequirements\nBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.\nA minimum of 12 years of progressively responsible electrical estimating, preconstruction, design management, project management, or field experience supporting commercial and industrial construction is preferred, including demonstrated leadership of large design-build or design-assist pursuits.\nProven expertise managing large, complex commercial or industrial construction pursuits and developing successful client relationships.\nExperience with Viewpoint software is preferred.\nComfortable managing a team of 2-6 people.\nPreferred Certifications:\nOne or more of the following credentials are preferred when relevant to assigned responsibilities:\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.\nDesign-Build Institute of America (DBIA) certification.\nAmerican Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE) Certified Professional Estimator (CPE).\nProject Management Professional (PMP) or comparable project-management credential.\nLEED Accredited Professional, Envision Sustainability Professional, or other relevant sustainability credential.\nOSHA 30 or comparable construction-safety training.\nRelevant electrical, energy, estimating, scheduling, commissioning, manufacturer, or field-leadership certification.\nBenefits\nSalary range for this position is $138,000-$182,000 annually.\nOpportunity for a discretionary year-end bonus.\n401k with a 40% employer match (up to federal limit.)\nPlease find more information on our compensation package here.\n\nhttps://ecpowerslife.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/02/EC-Benefit-Summary-Applicants.pdf\nIn addition to significant career growth opportunities, full-time employees enjoy a competitive pay rate, paid holidays and PTO; Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Disability Insurance, Flexible Spending Accounts, 401k plan and Employee Assistance Program.\n__________________________________________________________________________________________\nEC Electric is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer and supports a drug free workplace program.
