For more information, visit www.enterprisedb.com\n**Candidate Note: This position is 100% remote \nWe are seeking a highly skilled PGD Developer to design, implement, and maintain the EDB Postgres Distributed (PGD) product, a multi-master distributed PostgreSQL solution that provides high availability, geographic distribution, and active-active replication for enterprise workloads. \nAs a member of the team, you will work directly on PGD’s architecture design, development, testing, and documentation of new and existing capabilities with EDB’s quality standards.\nWhat you’ll be doing:\nDesign, develop, test, and document new PGD capabilities\nMaintain and improve the performance and usability of existing PGD capabilities\nAnalyze business requirements and translate them into executable tasks\nProvide world-class production support to EDB’s PGD customers\nParticipate in code reviews and collaborate with a globally distributed team\nWhat you will bring:\n5+ years of experience in a software engineering position\nStrong proficiency in C programming\nExperience with PostgreSQL internals (storage engine, WAL, replication, catalog system, or extension development)\nUnderstanding of distributed systems concepts: replication topologies, consensus, conflict resolution, eventual consistency, and failure modes\nExperience working on multi-version/multi-branch codebases with active backporting workflows\nFamiliarity with build systems and CI/CD practices\nComfort working with Git on a large, long-lived codebase with complex branching\nStrong debugging and performance analysis skills\nWhat will set you apart:\nPrior contributions to PostgreSQL or other open-source database projects\nExperience with logical replication, logical decoding, or custom replication solutions\nKnowledge of distributed consensus algorithms (Raft)\nFamiliarity with the PostgreSQL extension API and hook system\nExperience with high availability architectures and failover mechanisms\nExperience with Python and Rust\nExperience with the major Cloud Providers: AWS, Azure, GCP\nExperience with Ansible, Docker, and Kubernetes\nEDB is committed to supporting our employees' overall well being by offering a range of benefits and resources to promote a healthy work-life balance and wellness.
