Consistent with this approach, we hire the best qualified candidates for all positions.\nJob Summary:\nThe Finance Manager is responsible for financial management of clients including oversight of revenue recognition, financial reporting, forecasting, and process compliance. The Finance Manager may supervise one or more Financial Analysts or Interns. The Finance Manager will function as the Business Manager on larger or more complex projects or clients including contract and pricing negotiations (with oversight).\nBasic Qualifications:\nThe ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting with a minimum of five years of Finance or Accounting experience.\n\nIn lieu of a degree, six years of Financial or Accounting experience.\n\nAdvanced Microsoft Office skills.\n\nPreferred Knowledge and Skills:\nThe ideal candidate will have excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, be client service oriented and foster positive working relationships.\n\nIs well organized with strong time management skills and attention to detail, follows through on multiple projects and juggle conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nThe candidate will also possess strong financial analysis and management skills, good business acumen, ability to articulate financial concerns in layman’s terms, and be a self-starter and initiative taker.\n\nAdvanced knowledge of financial systems.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\nThe successful candidate will carry out the below responsibilities:\nClient Servicing\nCoordinate data collection for client audits\n\nCommunicate with clients regarding budgets, billing, and accounts receivable issues\n\nMaintain catalog of required client reporting and ensure timely completion\n\nFinancial Management and Planning\nSupport account teams in pricing client proposals, responding to RFP/RFI’s and developing budgets (with oversight)\n\nSupport negotiation of client and vendor contracts between clients/vendors, account staff/senior management and legal department, including full review of all business terms (with oversight)\n\nEnsure that projects are managed in accordance with contracts; create summary sheets for account teams\n\nEnsure written client agreements are obtained (via contract, letter of agreement, signed SOW, etc.) for all work and are appropriately archived and classified. Liaise with Contract Specialist and Contract office.\n\nAssist account teams with monthly project budget to actual tracking and other required client reporting\n\nReview and approve scopes and staffing plans; escalate issues to client finance lead as appropriate. Prepares staff plans if no PM\n\nReview monthly fee and expense detail. Analyze accuracy and explain significant variances to budget or forecast\n\nPrepare management reports and identify and communicate areas of concern and suggested improvements to account staff and management (e.g., client profitability, utilization, over/under service, missing time, revenue risk and staffing plans)\n\nReview monthly fees for accuracy and compliance with Edelman Revenue Recognition policy\n\nFacilitate monthly billing liaison between account staff and billing department and review billing reports\n\nReview time and expense write-offs and unbilled WIP\n\nEnsure processing of service orders timely\n\nWork with client leadership to minimize risk exposure surrounding accounts receivables and credit requirements of clients\n\nAccountable for timely and valuable AR collection status commentary and liaison with Accounts Receivable\n\nSupervise project set up process for department and perform Business Manager role for larger or more complex projects.\n\nDrive profitability by working with account teams, resource, and project management\n\nReview staffing utilization, realization, and capacity and proactively communicate meaningful observations Portfolio finance leaders\n\nEnsure compliance with company financial policies (e.g., revenue recognition, job requisitions, time entry, travel and expense, credit, billing, accounts payable, new business)\n\nAd hoc requests and projects\n\nPeople Management\nContribute to performance appraisal process for peers and managers\n\nProvide ongoing constructive feedback and consistently hold staff accountable for performance, compliance, and ethical business conduct\n\nSupervise and train Finance personnel and be accountable for their work\n\nMeasures of Success (Metrics)\nDemonstrate behaviors consistent with Edelman’s values, Code of Ethics and Business Conduct\n\nSet and pursue challenging stretch goals for yourself\n\nDemonstrate effective supervisory and effective task delegation abilities by setting clear expectations and deadlines, providing needed resources, monitoring progress, and providing feedback\n\nManage up, across, and down\n\nCommit to continuous learning and improvement of your technical and leadership skills $68,000 - $92,000 per year LI-PP1\n\nAn employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs.
