Free from heavy legacy processes, we give our people the autonomy, accountability, and agility to bring breakthrough technologies from concept to reality.\nBased in Abu Dhabi, a globally connected hub at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East, EDGE is home to a truly multicultural community where bold ideas thrive, and the future is shaped.\nTogether, we are shaping the future.\nABOUT THE ROLE\nAbout POWERTECH\nPOWERTECH is a center of excellence for propulsion technologies, specializing in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of combustion engines, expendable turbojet engines, and turbofan engines for a wide range of aerospace, defence, and autonomous applications, including fixed- and rotary-wing UAVs and other advanced platforms.\nRole Purpose\nThe Incoming Inspection Metrology Technician is responsible for dimensional and metrology inspection of incoming parts and materials, ensuring full compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements before release to production.\nThe role is critical to protect the Final Assembly Line (FAL) from non-conforming material and to ensure traceability, data integrity, and audit compliance.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nIncoming Inspection & Metrology\nPerform incoming dimensional inspection of mechanical parts, assemblies, and materials using calibrated metrology equipment\nVerify compliance against:\nEngineering drawings\nTechnical specifications\nCTQ / SC / CC characteristics\nExecute inspection according to inspection plans, control plans, and sampling rules\nIdentify, segregate, and label non-conforming material\nMeasurement & Equipment\nUse and maintain metrology equipment, including:\nCalipers, micrometers, height gauges\nBore gauges, dial indicators\nSurface roughness testers\nCMM (if applicable)\nEnsure equipment is calibrated, fit for use, and properly handled\nSupport MSA (Measurement System Analysis) activities as required\nDocumentation & Traceability\nRecord inspection results accurately in SAP / MES / quality systems\nMaintain full traceability by serial number, batch, or lot\nPrepare and manage:\nInspection records\nMeasurement reports\nNCRs (Non-Conformance Reports)\nSupport internal and external quality and regulatory audits\nQuality & Escalation\nImmediately escalate non-conformities to:\nFAL Quality Lead\nManufacturing Engineering\nProcurement / Supplier Quality (as applicable)\nSupport containment actions and re-inspection after disposition\nEnsure no non-conforming material is released to production without formal approval\nCross-Functional Interface\nInterface closely with:\nManufacturing Engineering (Industrialization)\nAssembly / FAL teams\nProcurement and Supplier Quality\nProvide technical feedback on recurrent issues or supplier performance\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to incoming quality\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\nEducation\nTechnical Diploma or equivalent in:\nMechanical Engineering\nIndustrial Technology\nMetrology or related field\nExperience\nMinimum 3-5 years experience in:\nIncoming inspection\nMetrology\nAerospace, automotive, or high-precision manufacturing environment\nExperience in propulsion, engines, or rotating equipment is a strong advantage\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nStrong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T\nKnowledge of:\nCTQ / critical characteristics\nInspection plans and control plans\nBasic SPC and quality tools\nExperience working with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred\nWHY CHOOSE EDGE\nLaunched in November 2019, the UAE's EDGE is one of the world's leading advanced technology groups, established to develop agile, bold and disruptive solutions for defence and beyond, and to be a catalyst for change and transformation.
