Primary focus on the mechanical commodity group - investment casting, CNC machining, and sheet metal fabrication. It could support other commodities like electronics, standard and C-parts. The role drives supplier accountability through performance, scorecards, audits, and corrective action, and ensures every new part and process change is qualified to aerospace standards before it enters the supply chain.\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nSupplier Quality Governance:\nOwn supplier quality scorecards (DPPM, SCAR closure rate, audit results) for casting, CNC machining, and sheet metal, electronics and standard parts suppliers.\nPlan and lead supplier quality audits - AS9100D, plus process-specific requirements (e.g., Nadcap for casting, heat treat, NDT).\nOwn the Supplier Corrective Action Request (SCAR) process end-to-end: issuance, root cause analysis (8D), verification, and closure.\nMaintain supplier quality risk flags and feed them into the program Risk Register.\nFirst Article Inspection (FAI)\nSupport the FAI governance process per AS9102 for new parts, new suppliers, and process/design changes.\nReview and formally approve FAI packages: dimensional reports, material certifications, and special-process certifications.\nCoordinate with Engineering on non-conformance disposition (use-as-is, rework, scrap) for FAI findings.\nMaintain FAI status tracking and ensure no production release occurs ahead of FAI approval.\nSupplier Performance Management\nRun supplier Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) jointly with the Commodity Managers.\nDrive Supplier Improvement Plans (SIPs) for underperforming casting, CNC, and sheet metal suppliers.\nRecommend PSL status changes (add/retain/remove) based on sustained quality performance.\nTeam & Reporting Leadership\nLead and mentor Supply Quality Specialist(s) supporting the mechanical, electronics and standard parts commodity group.\nOwn and report department quality KPIs to the Head of SCM & Procurement. Maintain structured daily, weekly, and monthly reporting. Compile monthly reports linked to KPI targets\nMaintain audit-ready quality documentation and traceability records in line with AS9100D.\nBASIC QUALIFICATIONS\nEXPERIENCE\n10+ years in supplier/supply chain quality within aerospace or defense manufacturing, with a focus on casting, CNC machining, sheet metal fabrication, electronics and standard parts.\nDeep working knowledge of AS9100D, AS9102 (First Article Inspection), and Nadcap special-process requirements.\nProven experience leading supplier audits and corrective action (8D/root cause) programs.People management / team leadership experience.\n\nEDUCATION\nBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering, or related field.\nSAP / Ariba or equivalent ERP platform experience.\nASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) is a strong advantage.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nRoot cause analysis and structured problem solving (8D)\nQuality systems leadership and audit rigor\nSupplier coaching and performance management\nTeam leadership and mentoring technical fluency across casting, machining, and sheet metal processes\nCross-functional leadership (engineering, quality, finance)\nData-driven decision-making and risk management\nWHY CHOOSE EDGE\nLaunched in November 2019, the UAE's EDGE is one of the world's leading advanced technology groups, established to develop agile, bold and disruptive solutions for defence and beyond, and to be a catalyst for change and transformation.
