The core firmware team that makes the exoskeleton walk is in overseas. You will be the software owner in Kyiv, close to the units and the soldiers.\nYou will report to the Ukraine Director and work every day with colleagues internationally, as the link between what we see in the field and what the main engineering team needs to fix.\nThis is a hands-on ownership role. You should thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, be comfortable making decisions independently, and bring the energy, attitude, and ownership to move fast and finish things. The responsibilities below are in priority order right now. They will change as we grow, and you will help decide how.\nResponsibilities\n\nTake over our existing phone app on day one: make it work with the newest hardware, and keep it updated every time the device changes\n\nMake the app easy for a soldier to install and use, in Ukrainian and English\n\nBuild and maintain one always-up-to-date list of every exoskeleton: serial number, hardware version, software version, settings, and repair history\n\nGet the data each unit records during a test off the device and into a database, so test results, errors, and usage are stored and searchable instead of living in chats and spreadsheets, built to work for 10 units and for 10,000\n\nBuild simple web pages and dashboards for the field team, engineering, and customers\n\nUpdate, recover, and read logs from any unit in Kyiv without waiting for anyone\n\nGive the firmware team clear, specific feedback, and make small changes with them when needed\n\nTake ownership of problems and make fast, practical decisions without waiting for detailed direction\nBasic Qualifications\n\nProven track record of building and shipping a real product, mostly on your own, with links, app store pages, or repositories to show it.\n\nStrong on both the app side (mobile or web) and the data side (databases, data pipelines, and APIs). The programming languages or tools you use do not matter.\n\nComfortable with low-level code (C or C++, embedded devices, serial and Bluetooth connections), enough to debug a device and talk to firmware engineers as an equal. You do not need to be a firmware expert.\n\nClearly excellent at what you do, with lots of energy, a habit of taking ownership, and a record of moving fast and finishing things.\n\nWorking English for daily collaboration with colleagues internationally, and Ukrainian for work in Kyiv.\n\nComfortable around hardware and soldiers.\n\nBased in or willing to relocate to Kyiv, able to work full time in the office.\nPreferred Skills and Experience\n\nExperience with embedded or IoT devices, or hardware testing\n\nA mobile app published on the App Store or Google Play\n\nExperience building data pipelines for device or sensor data\nHow We Work\n\nHardware reaches real operators within days of concept, not months, and firmware updates ship over the air every one to two weeks. We are a small team with one owner per category.
