The role combines hands on installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT and network infrastructure with planning, documentation, and coordination of deployment activities, supporting the reliability and security standards required by a 24x7 infrastructure environment.\nAbout the Role\nThis position sits inside EdgeUno's regional infrastructure operations, working directly with racks, cabling, servers, network devices, and facility systems inside the data center. The engineer coordinates with internal teams on deployments, asset tracking, and capacity planning, and supports incident response and maintenance windows as needed. The role requires physical, hands on work (equipment installation, cabling, hardware handling) and may require availability outside standard business hours depending on operational demands.\nCore Responsibilities\nEquipment Installation and Maintenance\nRack, stack, and cable IT equipment, including servers, network devices, firewalls, and rPDUs.\nImplement and maintain structured cable management best practices.\nCommission and decommission equipment.\nAssist with the deployment of rack and Meet Me Room (MMR) cabling, ensuring high quality standards.\nPerform Layer 1 and basic Layer 2 troubleshooting for servers and network devices.\nInfrastructure and Facility Management\nMaintain and update the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\nSupport Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) activities, including asset tracking and capacity documentation.\nEnsure cleanliness, organization, and proper operational standards within the data center environment.\nConduct physical audits of data center assets and infrastructure.\nManage and keep updated warehouse, device, and optic spares.\nIT Equipment Handling and Security\nSecurely decommission IT equipment, including removal of Data Bearing Devices (DBDs) and preparation for secure destruction.\nExecute hard drive shredding procedures according to company security policies.\nMove locked DBD bins to designated shredding areas.\nSupport audit and inventory management processes.\nOperational Support\nPerform basic troubleshooting and documented repairs on servers and IT equipment.\nSupport fiber and connectivity troubleshooting activities when required.\nExecute rack relocations and equipment movements across company locations when necessary.\nProvide support during infrastructure incidents, maintenance windows, and emergency situations.\nPlanning and Coordination\nSupport planning and coordination of infrastructure deployments and equipment installations.\nMaintain accurate documentation related to racks, cabling, assets, and deployments.\nAssist with infrastructure capacity planning and operational improvements across EdgeUno data center locations.\nRequirements\nHands on experience in data center operations or infrastructure environments.\nExperience with incident response, troubleshooting, and operational problem solving.\nUnderstanding of data center infrastructure fundamentals, including power, cooling, cabling, and physical security.\nAbility to work in a hands on environment handling servers, cabling, and hardware equipment.\nAvailability to support a 24x7 infrastructure environment when operational needs arise.\nWillingness to travel occasionally between EdgeUno locations.\nEnglish proficiency, B2 level minimum.\nNice to Have\nBasic Linux server administration.\nScripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python, or similar).\nExperience with network monitoring tools.\nBasic networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.\nExperience with cloud infrastructure deployments.\nExperience with fiber connectivity troubleshooting and OTDR analysis.\nRelevant industry certifications, such as CCNA, AWS, Google Cloud, or
