These groups also deliver secure, consistent, and capable network infrastructures to ensure faster realization of business value to its customers. The candidate shall provide staffing to complete the following work. The networking team shall provide second-tier and third-tier support of local-area and wide-area networks. The team primarily resolves tickets for daily operations and network troubles, but it also provides network engineers and architects with basic design assistance. The networking team supports both the unclassified and classified arenas across sites, including HSBs. The networking team shall support the following: data-center networking, client and remote virtual private networking, firewalls, wireless networking, encryptors, enterprise gigabit passive optical networking (GPON), synchronous optical network, Optical Transport Network (OTN), and dense wavelength-division multiplexing support, and campus networking. The candidate shall also install and configure network-tool applications and suites that perform monitoring, access control, configuration, provisioning, and orchestration.\nResponsibilities\nMonitor, maintain, and repair physical and virtual server systems. \nResolve technical issues affecting hardware, operating systems, or applications. \nApply operating system or application patches, install or replace hardware, and implement configuration changes to improve or restore system performance. \nPerform system capacity analysis and planning. \nAssist users in accessing and using business systems. \nDevelop instructions and procedures for system maintenance, create scripts to automate monitoring and repair tasks, and conduct quality assurance checks. \nCollaborate with customers, subject matter experts, and architects to analyze, evaluate, and optimize systems. \nContribute to process development and system improvement efforts.\nQualifications\nRequires BS in relevant discipline plus a minimum of 2 years, or more, of directly related experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the duties.\nIn Lieu of degree 8 years or more of equivalent combination of relevant education and experience\nAbility to obtain & maintain a U.S. Dept. of Energy Clearance\nU.S. Citizenship is required.\nRequired Skills:\nComplete knowledge of networking principles for conjuring and maintaining the organization of the network\nProper understanding all types of hardware including routers, switches, wires, and other essential equipment.\nKnowledge of the common operating systems such as Linux, MS OS\nKnowledge of IP addressing and some common networking protocols like IPv4 and IPv6.\nExperience performing any network performance issues such as system crash.\nSelf-starter\nStrong advance problem solving skills.\nAbout Us:\nEdgewater Federal Solutions is a privately held government contracting firm located in Frederick, MD.
