You will analyze functional business applications and design specifications for functional activities; translate detailed design into application systems; test, debug, and refine applications to produce the required product; prepare required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation; enhance applications to improve performance and add functionality; and provide technical direction to engineers to ensure program deadlines are met.\nResponsibilities\nCollaborate with team members to investigate, plan, gather requirements, design, develop, test, document, analyze problems, and support software systems and applications. \nSupport the design of software tools and subsystems that support reuse and domain analysis\nAssisting Applications Engineers and Programmers in interpreting software requirements and design specifications, coding, integrating, and testing software components to ensure they meet project objectives. \nAnalyze functional business applications and design specifications across various areas, including finance, accounting, personnel, manpower, logistics, and contracts. Develop block diagrams and logic flow charts, translating detailed designs into computer software, testing, debugging, and refining software to produce high-quality products. \nPrepare comprehensive documentation and enhance software to improve efficiency while providing technical direction to programmers to ensure project deadlines are met. \nExperience in information system design, including application programming on large-scale database management systems and the development of complex software to satisfy design objectives.\nQualifications\nBS/BA and five years of experience in Linux environments, relational database, experience in Software Development ( HTML, CSS, Javascript, Data Structures, and Algorithms).\nCandidate must be able to obtain a DOE Q clearance.\nU.S. citizenship is required per Contract to obtain and maintain U.S. Department of Energy Clearance\nCandidate must reside in the Albuquerque area as onsite work is required.\nRequired SKills:\nKnowledge of, and desire to follow IT Operations best practices and procedures such as issue management and incident response.\nFive years’ experience working in full stack application development\nSix years’ experience developing web-based applications using tools - Ruby on Rails\nExperience using Agile development methodologies\nEffective oral and written communications skills along with a strong customer service commitment\nFamiliar with information security best practices\nDesired skills:\nExperience integrating front end and back-end APIs to allow agnostic use of other front-end frameworks\nExperience with Rails testing frameworks such as Rspec and Git\nAbout Us:\nEdgewater Federal Solutions is a privately held government contracting firm located in Frederick, MD.
