The role suits a motivated developer with a foundation in Python and modern JavaScript/TypeScript who is eager to grow their skills and committed to writing high-quality code.\nMinimum Requirements\nQualifications / Education\nA Bachelor’s degree or equivalent NQF 7 qualification (Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Technology) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. \nExperience\n1-2 years of hands-on software development experience building web applications in a professional environment. A graduate programme or internship of 6 months or more may count towards this. \nAt least 1 year of experience with Python, including a framework such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI. \nAt least 1 year of experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern frontend framework (e.g. React, Vue.js, or Angular). \nAt least 1 year of experience working with PostgreSQL or another relational database, including writing and troubleshooting SQL queries. \nAdvantageous\nA portfolio or GitHub profile showing full stack projects. \nExposure to REST APIs, Docker, or cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure). \nExposure to Agile ways of working or CI/CD tools. \nDuties and Responsibilities\nApplication Development & Maintenance\nDevelop, test, and maintain frontend and backend features under the guidance of senior team members. \nAssist in building and maintaining RESTful APIs and database components. \nFix bugs and implement small enhancements to existing applications and workflows. \nWrite unit tests for your own code to ensure quality. \nFollow secure coding practices and team coding standards. \nAgile Practices\nParticipate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives). \nAsk questions to clarify user stories and requirements. \nComplete assigned tasks within agreed sprint timelines. \nDevOps Practices\nLearn and use the team’s CI/CD processes and Vue.js, or Angular). \nBackend: Foundational knowledge of Python and exposure to Django, Flask, or FastAPI. \nDatabases: Understanding of relational database concepts and the ability to write basic to intermediate SQL queries. \nTools: Familiarity with Git and a willingness to learn Azure DevOps, CI/CD, and Docker. \nTesting: Understanding of the importance of unit testing and willingness to write
