It plays an important role in\ninternational affairs through diplomacy, trade, development aid and working\nwith global organizations. Abroad, the EU is represented through more than 140\ndiplomatic representations, known also as EU Delegations, which have a similar\nfunction to those of an embassy. \n\nThe EU Delegation to the Republic of Mauritius, Port Louis, works in close coordination with the\nEmbassies and Consulates of the 27 EU Member States. We are a fully-fledged\ndiplomatic\nmission and represent the European Union in areas that are part of the EU’s\nremit.\n\nWe offer\n\nThe post of Driver (Local\nAgent Group 5) in the Delegation’s Administration Section. Under this post, the\nrecruited person will be attributed functions depending on the needs of the\nDelegation, and on the changes of these needs. The successful candidate will serve under the supervision and\nresponsibility of the Head of Administration Section, providing support,\nexpertise and assistance.\n\nFollowing\nmain tasks and duties are currently required: \n\nLOGISTIC SUPPORT : To transport individuals, goods and/or\ndocuments\n\n• To\nensure the transportation for the Delegation and car maintenance;\n\n• To\nensure the transportation of the staff in the execution of their official\nduties; \n\n• To\nensure the transportation of visitors during their missions;\n\n• To\ndeliver in due time messages, mails, pouch etc.;\n\n• To\nbe responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the fleet of vehicles;\n\n• To\nassist in the customs procedures when requested;\n\n• To\nreport on a regular basis: log book and repairs made on vehicles;\n\n• To\nassist in administrative matters;\n\nAny other task as requested by the\nHead of Delegation or their delegate according to the needs of the service.\n\nMinimum\nrequirements / eligibility criteria (necessary for the application to be\nconsidered)\n\nSchool Certificate\nValid driving licence for at least private motor vehicles\nAt least 3 years of proven experience\nas driver\nAvailability for overtime duty\nProficient user of Mauritian Creole, English (B1) and French (B1).\nGood ability to understand, read, speak and write\nComputer literate\n\nAssets\n/ selection criteria (basis for awarding points to select the best applicant)\n\nExperience in a Diplomatic Mission\n\nHow to apply\n\nPlease submit your application, consisting of a cover letter, a CV, copies\nof certificates/diplomas, testimonials, driving licence/s and any other\nsupporting documents to the attention of the\nHead of Delegation by\nemail to  no later than Sunday\n22 November 2026 (23h59 Mauritius time).\n\nOnly complete applications received\non time will be considered.\n\nPlease mention on the subject of your e-mail: [Your Name]/Post of Driver – Administrative Section\n\nThe successful candidate will be subject to a medical\ncheck, background check, etc.\n\nThe process\n\nAfter the deadline for applications, the eligible applications will be admitted\nto the Selection by the Committee set up for this purpose. \n\nDepending on the number of applications received, successive\nphases of Selection may include shortlisting of candidates based on the assessment\nof the information provided in the cover letter, CV, practical testing and\ninterviews. 3 to 5 best candidates will be invited to the final interview.\n\nOnly candidates admitted to each successive selection\nphase will be contacted individually.\n\nThe Delegation will not supply additional information\nor discuss the selection procedure.
