EGA operates aluminium smelters in Jebel Ali and Al Taweelah in the United Arab Emirates, an alumina refinery in Al Taweelah, a bauxite mine and associated export facilities in the Republic of Guinea, a speciality foundry in high strength recycled aluminium in Germany, and a recycling plant in the United States.\n\n1.JOB PURPOSE:\n\nResponsible for setting long term plan and strategy for DUBAL, Emal & Shaheen Power Plant. \nReview of annual budget, quality procedures, all enquiries for service contracts, spares for electrical, I&C and operations departments. \nReview routine, preventive overhaul and emergency maintenance of all electrical equipment at power plants. \nReview all 3-plants contingency procedures/emergency procedures and Issue guidelines for spare parts, electrical equipment maintenance, RCA and other performance studies. \nReview and optimisation of Plant electrical protection concepts, design and settings. Division point of reference for electrical protections coordination with other Emirates National Grid divisions and ADWEA, GASCO, ADWEC, DEWA, ENEC, FEWA AND IPP plants.\nResponsible for integrity of the complete system and on the business case of the critical high value project within power and water generation, rectification, transmission and finally protection systems\n\n2.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:\n\nStrategy\nParticipate both in General Electric & Alstom, conferences, exhibitions related to the power industry both home and abroad, in order to represent the organization, and to collect information for shaping the right strategy for the Division and organization as a whole.\n\nOrganization Network\nInternal Touch points\nGeneration, Rectification, Protection & Instrumentation Division - Senior Management\nExternal Touch points\nEmirates National Grid, DEWA, FEWA,GASCO,ADWEC,ADWEA, Transco & ENEC\n\nBudget\nReview strategic plan, annual budgets and long term cost estimations pertaining to Electrical Maintenance at all 3-plants. Review enquiries and orders related to all departments (MMD, EMD, I&C, Production & Planning, Efficiency & Asset Management) in EGA Energy before they are sent to SVP-. Perform Cost-benefit analysis for improvements.\n\nOperational:\nPlant Data:\nReview various technical reports and plant data and discuss them in various management review meetings. Provide recommendations to SVP for various issues related to Electrical equipment Load Flow, Fault level in electrical systems.\nBreakdowns:\nReview events, lead and support root cause analysis and recommend remedial measures in case of breakdowns or recurring failures on Electrical & I&C Equipment.\nProtection:\nReview electrical protections for all equipment under 3-plants. Coordinate with all three plant protection department, related to Electrical domain.\nTechnical Guidance:\nProvide advice to Projects and Engineering and Commissioning department on various issues pertaining to Electrical domain. Suggest suitable measures for older equipment and provide guidelines for optimal stock of Insurance & overhaul spares. \nMaintenance:\nOversee and review preventive, overhaul and emergency maintenance activities of the electrical equipment installed in the generating stations at DUBAL, Emal & Shaheen Stations, in order to ensure their reliable operation. \nTechnical Reports:\nGenerate reports based on review of maintenance reports, in order to support decision making by management regarding optimum plant operation.\n\nProjects:\nReview documents related to Electrical discipline (mainly Protection concepts) for upcoming projects, suggest/recommend changes, verify their adherence to the contractual specifications in order to ensure smooth execution and timely completion of the projects.\n\nCoordination:\nCo-ordinate with other departments of the organization, representatives of contractors, consultants, manufacturers, suppliers regarding jobs related directly and indirectly, in order to fulfill the organization's interests, and safeguard its installations.\n\nTechnical Support:\nAssist other departments in preparation of technical specifications, evaluate offers and thereby fulfil the organization's commitment to such projects.\n\nReview Meetings:\nParticipate in General Management Review meetings and SVP meetings related to quality, safety and environment.\nParticipate in Electrical Team monthly Meetings on various important issues related to plants in DUBAL, EMAL & Shaheen\n\nConfidentiality:\nEnsure non-disclosure of confidential information to anyone within or outside the Authority, during or after employment in EGA.\n\nSafety, Quality & Environment:\nFollow and adhere to the EHS Management System Manual as per EGA's safety standards\n\nRelated Assignments\nPerform other job-related duties as required.\n\n3.Authority/ Decision making:\n\nThinking within substantially diversified, established procedures, standards and precedents; work is generally supervised\nWork is subject to managerial control and review of results. Experience:\nExpatriates: Minimum 15 years’ experience in developing / commissioning or/ and operations & Maintenance of power plants of which at least 5 years should have been as head of the function)\nUAE Nationals: Minimum 12 years’ experience in operations & Maintenance of power plants of which at least 5 years should have been as head of the function)\n\nSkills:\nKnowledge of Power generation and desalination main and auxiliaries electrical equipment and protection features design, deployment , operation and Maintenance as well as familiarity with quality/safety/environment management systems as per relevant ISO guidelines,\nShould be well versed in strategic planning, manpower planning, long term planning, budgeting & budget controls of a large process control plant or
