The position is responsible for the planning, design, coordination, and delivery of electrical systems associated with traffic signal infrastructure, roadway improvements, and municipal transportation networks. Work is performed within a collaborative engineering environment involving coordination with civil, transportation, and municipal stakeholders.\nThe role contributes across preliminary design, detailed design, regulatory review, construction support, and project closeout phases. Responsibilities include developing electrical design packages, reviewing engineering deliverables, supporting regulatory submissions, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes, standards, and contract requirements for public-sector infrastructure projects.\nThe ideal candidate brings 5 to 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including direct traffic signal design exposure, transportation infrastructure project delivery, technical oversight responsibilities, quality management participation, and mentorship of junior engineering staff.\nKey Responsibilities\nPrepare, review, and coordinate electrical design packages for traffic signal and transportation infrastructure projects.\nDevelop engineering specifications, calculations, technical reports, and design documentation in accordance with applicable standards and contract requirements.\nPerform multidisciplinary coordination with civil, transportation, and municipal stakeholders to support integrated infrastructure delivery.\nConduct design reviews to verify compliance with regulatory requirements, project criteria, and engineering standards.\nProvide technical leadership and engineering guidance to junior staff throughout project execution.\nSupport quality assurance and quality control processes for electrical engineering deliverables.\nParticipate in stakeholder coordination meetings and provide technical recommendations related to transportation infrastructure projects.\nContribute to the development and maintenance of engineering standards, templates, and discipline best practices.\nProvide construction support services, including technical inquiry responses and resolution of field-related design issues.\nAssist with regulatory submissions and compliance requirements associated with transportation infrastructure programs.\n Required\nBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in good standing with a Canadian engineering regulatory authority.\n5 to 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience.\nMinimum 3 years of direct traffic signal design experience.\nExperience delivering electrical systems for transportation or municipal infrastructure projects.\nStrong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).\nExperience applying Ontario Traffic Manual (OTM) Book 12 requirements.\nExperience utilizing Ontario Provincial Standard Drawings (OPSD) and Ontario Provincial Standard Specifications (OPSS).\nProficiency with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D.\nStrong technical reporting, stakeholder coordination, communication, and collaboration skills.\nDemonstrated experience providing technical guidance and mentorship within engineering teams.\n Assets\nExperience supporting municipal or public-sector transportation infrastructure programs.\nExposure to construction-phase engineering support and field coordination activities.\nExperience participating in quality management or continuous improvement initiatives.\nFamiliarity with sustainable infrastructure and energy-efficient electrical system design.\nExperience working within multidisciplinary engineering consulting environments.\n Egis Canada is an equal opportunities employer offering a competitive salary and benefits to those with the skills suited to the needs of our clients.
