Join a team where innovation is encouraged, collaboration is valued, and your work helps build a more sustainable future.\n We are looking for a Engineer, Communications in our Monterey Park, CA office.\nThis role will be responsible for developing technical solutions, coordinating system interfaces, supporting compliance activities, and ensuring communications systems are successfully delivered into operation.\nThe ideal candidate will have experience working with complex transportation infrastructure projects and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, operators, suppliers, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.\nThe Impact You’ll Make (Job Responsibilities)\nDevelop, review, and approve communications engineering deliverables throughout design, construction, testing, and commissioning phases.\nSupport requirements management, system architecture development, and interface coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.\nReview supplier and contractor designs to ensure compliance with project requirements, operational needs, and applicable standards.\nProvide technical oversight for communications systems, including fiber networks, radio systems, telecommunications infrastructure, operational communications, and control center technologies.\nSupport regulatory, operational, and compliance activities, including preparation and review of technical documentation and approval packages.\nDevelop and support testing, commissioning, system integration, defect resolution, and final acceptance activities.\nCoordinate with project stakeholders, operators, consultants, service providers, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery and operational readiness.\n Qualifications\nThe Expertise You’ll Bring (Qualifications)\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license, or ability to obtain licensure.\n10+ years of experience in railway communications, operational telecommunications, or transportation systems engineering.\nProven experience delivering communications systems through design, integration, testing, commissioning, and operational acceptance.\nExperience with fiber optic networks, IP/MPLS networking, radio systems, operational telecommunications, LTE, FRMCS, or other mission-critical communications technologies.\nStrong understanding of systems integration, operational communications, cybersecurity interfaces, and transportation infrastructure applications.\nDemonstrated ability to develop technical deliverables, support compliance and operational approvals, and coordinate multidisciplinary teams, suppliers, and contractors on complex infrastructure projects.\n Why You'll Thrive at Egis\nAt Egis, you'll do more than build your career-you'll help shape the future of infrastructure.
