Join a team where innovation is encouraged, collaboration is valued, and your work helps build a more sustainable future.\n The Impact You’ll Make\nIn this role, you will be working as part of an integrated project team, providing technical expertise for system performance specification, costing, system compliance and approval, construction, acceptance, maintenance and operation of Overhead Contact Systems and equipment.\nPractical experience and knowledge of Overhead Line Equipment / Overhead Contact Systems, and emerging rail technology are must have skills for this role. You will also be a good communicator, a team player and able to build rapport with stakeholders.\nThis role is based in Sacramento, California.\nKey Accountabilities\nDay to day, you will be:\nWorking as part of an integrated project team to deliver a high-speed rail system which meets the business requirements established by our client.\nInterpreting business requirements and developing performance requirements for the rail systems specification in compliance with statute, system design, national and international standards and best industry practice.\nProviding advice and guidance on development within the rail systems industry so that systems specification remains at the forefront of industry in terms of safety, technology and performance.\nOffering specialist technical guidance and support to the system integration and interfaces between rail systems and other works.\nProviding technical support to others within the project team to ensure that specialist advice is available as and when required.\nEstablishing technical content for Overhead Contact System requirements and standards for the project.\nUpdating Design Criteria relating to Overhead Contact Systems for incorporation into future contracts.\nReviewing, as directed, the overall safety, performance and compatibility of project designs and providing structured feedback and comment where necessary.\nParticipating in, or leading, audits against requirements, process, contract or law as required.\nContributing to the development of project requests for proposal (RFPs) and to the evaluation of proposals from contractors/subcontractors.\nMonitoring contractual commitments to check that work is being performed in accordance with specifications, drawings and terms of contract.\nJob Skills, Experience and Qualifications\nStrong background in Overhead Contact System, particularly for high speed operation\nStrong railway system background with knowledge and understanding of the interfaces between different elements that make up a high-speed railway\nExcellent interpersonal and communications skills\nPlan and deliver appropriate systems to understand future demand, emerging technologies and areas for improvement\nManage third parties so that service levels are met\nKnowledge of relevant legislation, industry and company standards\nIncorporated Engineer working towards Chartered status\nEngineering management experience involving technical and business risk assessment\nRelevant professional qualifications\n Why You'll Thrive at Egis\nAt Egis, you'll do more than build your career-you'll help shape the future of infrastructure.
