Egis is a French engineering, consulting and operations group working on transport, buildings, water, energy and urban development projects worldwide. It designs and supervises infrastructure such as motorways, rail lines, metro systems, airports and bridges, and unusually also operates assets once they are built, running airports and road concessions rather than handing them over at completion. Headquartered near Paris and majority owned by the state investment bank Caisse des Depots alongside its own employees, the group employs tens of thousands of engineers and project managers across more than one hundred countries.

Engeny, part of Egis Group, is an environmental consultancy operating in QLD, NSW, VIC and WA.

Egis is an organisation with the capacity to make meaningful industry and community change in the space of place-making, sustainability and creating connected cities. Different to other engineering firms, Egis offers true end-to-end capability across the entire design-to-operation lifecycle, offering advisory, architecture, engineering, design, asset management and operations services.

We are committed to creating great teams doing innovative work and would love you to join us to Impact the Future.

As a Flooding & Stormwater Engineer, your impact will be within the QLD Stormwater and Flooding team. • Development of hydraulic and hydrological models.
  • Development of water balance and water quality treatment models
  • Undertake civil engineering calculations to support the design of WSUD infrastructure.
  • Preparation of GIS databases and maps (utilising QGIS, ArcGIS, or MapInfo).
  • Preparation of erosion and sediment control plans.

Ideally, you will have a minimum of 2+ years’ professional experience with demonstrated technical expertise in flooding and stormwater engineering within a consultancy environment.

You will also have:

  • A tertiary degree in civil engineering, or similar (essential).
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team, with support from senior staff and colleagues.
  • Experience working in a consulting environment highly desirable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication; organisational and analytical skills.
  • Experience in recording technical data and preparing reports.
  • Experience in project management and maintaining project schedules.
  • Experience in any of the following software will be considered favourably:
  • Hydrology software such as WBNM, URBS, XP-RAFTS, RORB
  • Hydraulic software such as TUFLOW, HEC-RAS.
  • Water quality modelling software such as MUSIC.

The Benefits

  • Competitive remuneration and benefits.
  • A structured learning and development framework to align with career progression goals.
  • Brisbane CBD location with flexible working arrangements, including remote working options.
  • An inclusive team culture that celebrates performance and rewards accordingly.
  • Paid Primary and Secondary Carer Leave Policy, reflecting our commitment to work-life balance.
  • Support structures like our Employee Assistance Program, professional mentoring, and buddy program for new starters.
  • Opportunities to work on special interest projects.
  • Opportunities to work across government, private and resource sectors.
  • Opportunities to travel for work across multiple offices.
  • Great cultural environment where teamwork and camaraderie are promoted and valued.
  • Supportive leadership based on openness.

With opportunities to work on exciting projects locally and support national projects and operations, this is a fantastic role for a motivated engineer looking for their next career move.

We are open to considering this role on a full-time, part-time or job-share basis. Please let us know of your flexibility requirements.

Egis is committed to creating an inclusive, creative culture that embraces diversity and flexibility. We offer generous parental leave, support flexible work practices and strive to create an environment where employees can connect, collaborate, grow and succeed.
