This is an opportunity to take ownership of critical project accounting processes, strengthen financial visibility across the business, and play a key role in how we evolve our accounting operations.\nYou'll work closely with the Controller, project managers, and department leaders to improve project budgeting, forecasting, work-in-progress (WIP) analysis, and revenue recognition. You'll also help guide our upcoming transition to Oracle and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting.\nThis is a hands-on technical leadership role for someone who enjoys solving problems, building better processes, and making a meaningful impact. While you won't have direct reports, you'll provide functional guidance to our AP/AR teams and influence financial practices across the organization.\nThe Impact You'll Make\nLead Project Accounting & Financial Performance\nTake ownership of project accounting processes, including project setup, financial controls, WIP analysis, revenue recognition, and project financial reporting.\nPartner with project managers and department leaders to review project performance, identify variances, resolve financial issues, and improve project profitability visibility.\nStrengthen project-level budgeting, forecasting, and cost-to-complete projections, helping teams make informed financial decisions.\nCoach project managers and department leaders on financial best practices, building greater consistency and accountability across projects.\nDrive Process Improvements & Transformation\nPlay an important role in the transition to Oracle and percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting.\nIdentify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve financial accuracy, and strengthen existing accounting processes.\nHelp establish more consistent project financial reporting, forecasting, and review practices.\nExplore new tools and technologies, including Power BI and AI, to improve efficiency and financial insights.\nSupport Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting\nPartner with the Controller on month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and project revenue recognition.\nPrepare and analyze financial reports, KPIs, and project performance metrics to support operational and leadership decisions.\nMonitor general ledger activity and provide functional guidance to the AP/AR teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and timely issue resolution.\nSupport cash flow monitoring, intercompany transactions, and financial reporting requirements.\nCoordinate project billing, financial reviews, and related client communications for Egis Rail USA.\nOwn Audit Coordination & Financial Compliance\nServe as a primary point of contact for external auditors during interim and year-end audits.\nCoordinate audit documentation, financial schedules, and responses to auditor requests.\nSupport FAR audit requirements and related compliance activities.\nPrepare financial information and reports for clients, municipalities, vendors, and other external stakeholders as needed.\n What You'll Bring\nBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.\n5+ years of relevant accounting experience, including experience supporting interim and year-end audits.\nHands-on project accounting experience, including WIP analysis, revenue recognition, and project budgeting and forecasting.\nStrong understanding of financial reporting, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close processes.\nAbility to partner with and influence project managers, department leaders, and cross-functional teams.\nAdvanced Excel skills and experience developing financial reports, analyses, and supporting workpapers.\nStrong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.\nA proactive mindset and genuine interest in improving processes, implementing new technologies, and finding better ways of working.\nEven Better If You Have\nCPA certification or public accounting experience.\nExperience in engineering, architecture, construction, or government contracting.\nExperience with percentage-of-completion (POC) accounting or cost-to-complete forecasting.\nFamiliarity with Deltek Ajera, Tagetik, Oracle, or similar financial systems.\nKnowledge of FAR, indirect rates, or government contract compliance.\nExperience using Power BI, automation, or other tools to enhance financial reporting.\n Why You'll Thrive at Egis\nAt Egis, you'll do more than build your career-you'll help shape the future of infrastructure.
