QC Manager (Saudi National)
Job Description
We are looking for an experienced QC Manager to lead and oversee Quality Control activities across both the design and construction phases of a major aviation project. The successful candidate will ensure that design deliverables, construction works, testing, commissioning, and handover activities comply with approved requirements, applicable aviation standards, project specifications, and contractual obligations. The role will also coordinate closely with the appointed QA company and project stakeholders to establish a robust and consistent quality management approach throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee Quality Control activities for the design phase, ensuring that design deliverables comply with project requirements, specifications, applicable codes, standards, and aviation requirements.
- Establish and implement the design quality control procedures, review workflows, checklists, and quality gates.
- Ensure appropriate design verification, checking, and approval processes are implemented and documented.
- Monitor the quality and completeness of design submissions at each project stage.
- Lead and manage the Quality Control team, including discipline-specific QC personnel and inspectors.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the Project Quality Control Plan (PQCP) and related quality procedures.
- Review and monitor ITPs, method statements, inspection requests, checklists, material submittals, and test reports.
- Ensure construction activities comply with approved drawings, specifications, aviation requirements, applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements.
- Oversee site inspections and verify the quality of materials, workmanship, installations, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Review material submittals, inspection requests, test reports, and technical documentation from a quality perspective.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), observations, corrective actions, and preventive measures.
- Conduct regular quality audits, site inspections, and performance reviews.
- Coordinate with the Client, Contractor, Designer, and other stakeholders on quality-related matters.
- Monitor the Contractor’s compliance with approved QA/QC procedures and project quality requirements.
- Coordinate with the appointed QA company on quality assurance activities, audits, inspections, reporting, and compliance requirements.
- Ensure proper documentation and traceability of inspection, testing, material approvals, and quality records.
- Monitor quality during testing, commissioning, integrated systems testing, operational readiness, and handover.
- Ensure proper preparation and maintenance of as-built documentation, testing records, O&M manuals, inspection records, and handover dossiers.
- Oversee the closure of punch lists, snagging items, NCRs, and outstanding quality issues.
- Prepare and present quality reports, KPIs, and performance updates to project management.
- Promote a strong quality culture and continuous improvement across the project.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality Management, or a related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in Quality Control/Quality Assurance, including significant managerial or supervisory experience.
- Proven experience managing QC teams on large-scale construction, infrastructure, aviation, or complex development projects.
- Strong knowledge of quality management systems, construction inspection, testing, and commissioning processes.
- Excellent understanding of ITPs, method statements, NCRs, inspection procedures, material approvals, and quality documentation.
- Strong knowledge of relevant international standards, codes, specifications, and contractual quality requirements.
- Practical experience with ISO 9001 quality management systems; relevant certification is preferred.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate effectively with Client, Contractor, and project stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, analytical, problem-solving, and reporting skills.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CQI/IRCA, ASQ, or equivalent are advantageous.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
