This role will serve as a project manager or task leader for urban and rural roadway engineering projects. This role is ideal for an engineering professional with experience working with NCDOT and other public agencies who can quickly contribute to active projects, help coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and serve as a trusted partner throughout the project development and delivery process.\nThe successful candidate will bring strong organizational skills, a collaborative mindset, and an experience in producing Right of Way Acquisition Plans and Final Roadway Plans, and a understanding of how transportation projects move from planning and funding through design and implementation.\nThe Impact You'll Make\nSupport the delivery of transportation projects for NCDOT, municipalities, MPOs, and other public-sector clients throughout North Carolina.\nCoordinate project activities among internal design teams, subconsultants, agency stakeholders, and clients to help ensure successful project delivery.\nAssist with project planning, scheduling, scope management, and tracking project milestones and deliverables.\nFoster and maintain strong working relationships with personnel and other transportation partners.\nWork closely with project managers to support project execution, resource coordination, budget tracking, and client communication.\nParticipate in project meetings, stakeholder coordination efforts, and agency discussions.\nCollaborate across multiple disciplines to ensure quality deliverables are produced on schedule and within project objectives.\nAssist with the preparation of proposals, client presentations, project pursuits, and other business development activities.\nContribute to marketing and client engagement efforts by supporting relationship development and identifying opportunities to grow transportation services.\nHelp monitor project schedules, identify potential risks, and proactively coordinate solutions to keep projects moving forward.\nServe as a resource to project teams regarding processes, transportation funding programs, and project development procedures.\n The Expertise You'll Bring\nBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\n5+ years of transportation engineering, project delivery, or Roadway Design experience.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain North Carolina licensure within six months of hire.\nExperience working with NCDOT projects, policies, standards, and project development processes.\nDemonstrated ability to coordinate project teams, manage competing priorities, and maintain accountability for project schedules and deliverables.\nStrong organizational skills with the ability to proactively manage tasks and support multiple projects simultaneously.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, agency partners, and internal teams.\nUnderstanding of transportation project development, permitting, funding mechanisms, and public-sector project delivery.\nAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.\nFamiliarity with MicroStation ORD and transportation design processes is preferred.\n Why You'll Thrive at Egis\nAt Egis, you'll do more than build your career-you'll help shape the future of infrastructure.
