The bridge team works collaboratively with our divisional team across Ontario.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLeading in producing engineering products for bridge rehabilitation and new design projects from concept through construction to meet customer quality requirements.\nComplete detailed structural design calculations and analysis.\nWork independently and as part of a team to define problems, establish work scope, prepare budgets and schedules, plan the work, and provide technical direction and oversight.\nPrepare and check detailed engineering models, drawings, specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and technical reports.\nDevelop and review designs for new bridges and bridge rehabilitation.\nProvide expertise and services related to the evaluation, inspection, and rehabilitation of transportation structures.\nReview cost estimates, specifications, and tender documents prepared by junior engineers.\nCoordinate and collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments, including highway, foundation, environmental, drainage, and electrical.\nMaintain effective working relationships with clients.\nPerform project management duties, including assembling and managing project teams, controlling budgets and schedules, ensuring quality control, and managing client interactions.\nProvide input and technical guidance to CAD Designer/Drafters, Designers, and less experienced Engineers.\nEnsure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations.\n Bachelor or Master degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.\nLicensed as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.).\nMinimum 10 years of progressive design experience for MTO and municipalities projects involves steel and concrete bridge structures in Ontario.\nMust be able to lead detailed design and contract preparation together with team member and as self-directed manner.\nProficient user of structural analysis software (Midas and CSiBridge).\nSound and in-depth knowledge in MTO standards and policies, Highway Bridge Design Code (CSA-S6), AASHTO and ARIMA Codes.\nAbility to provide construction liaison and act as Contract Administrator.\nAbility to review and sign-off of technical design reports.\nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nSound understanding of other disciplines scope and ability to liaise.\nPossess a valid driver’s license.\n We welcome and encourage applications from people with disabilities.
