This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of projects from planning and design through to construction support while helping to grow and develop our expanding Cork operation.\nThe position will suit an experienced engineer with strong project management capabilities, commercial awareness and a proven track record delivering development infrastructure projects within the Irish market.\nKey Responsibilities\nProject Delivery\nLead the planning, design and delivery of residential and mixed-use development projects.\nManage projects through all phases including feasibility, planning, detailed design, tender and construction support.\nAct as Project Manager and Design Lead on multidisciplinary schemes.\nCoordinate and manage external stakeholders, clients, local authorities and design team partners.\nEnsure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.\nTechnical Responsibilities\nLead the design and review of:Foul water drainage systems\nSurface water drainage systems\nStormwater management infrastructure\nWatermain networks\nRoad and development infrastructure\n\nPrepare and review technical reports, design calculations, specifications and construction documentation.\nOversee the use of Civil 3D and other digital design tools.\nEnsure compliance with relevant Irish standards, planning requirements and Uisce Éireann guidelines.\nPlanning & Stakeholder Management\nSupport and manage projects through Large-Scale Residential Development (LRD) and other planning processes.\nLiaise directly with private developers, planning consultants, local authorities, Uisce Éireann and other statutory bodies.\nManage stakeholder engagement and represent Egis at client meetings and project workshops.\nLeadership & Commercial Responsibilities\nMentor and support junior engineers and technicians.\nManage project resources, programmes, budgets and risks.\nSupport fee proposals, contract negotiations and commercial management activities.\nContribute to business development and client relationship management initiatives.\n Required Qualifications & Experience\nDegree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.\nChartered Engineer (CEng) status with Engineers Ireland, ICE or equivalent.\nMinimum 10 years' relevant experience in civil engineering design and project delivery.\nStrong experience within the Irish residential development sector.\nProven experience managing relationships with private developers and public sector bodies.\nUnderstanding of Irish planning processes, including LRD applications.\nStrong project management and multidisciplinary design coordination experience.\nExcellent commercial awareness covering project fees, contracts and project delivery.\nExtensive experience in foul and surface water drainage design and watermain infrastructure.\nStrong knowledge of Uisce Éireann design and construction standards.\nExperience using Civil 3D.\nFull driving licence and availability to attend client offices and sites throughout the Cork region.\nKey Competencies\nStrong leadership and mentoring skills.\nExcellent stakeholder management capabilities.\nCommercial and client-focused mindset.\nStrong communication and presentation skills.\nEffective programme and project management abilities.\nCommitment to quality, innovation and technical excellence.\n What’s in It for You?\nAn exciting new growth role in a fast-organic growing business, offering clear and accelerated career progression.\nTop Employers 2025 - Egis recognised across four continents for excellence in HR practices, having been awarded the prestigious Top Employer 2025 certification.
