Different to other engineering firms, Egis offers true end-to-end capability across the entire design-to-operation lifecycle, offering advisory, architecture, engineering, design, asset management and operations services.\nWe are committed to creating great teams doing innovative work and would love you to join us to Impact the Future.\n As a member of our Distribution Design team, you will be responsible for delivering detailed design and documentation for a range of projects within the Energy sector.\nAs a Senior Distribution Engineer you will be responsible for the design and delivery of overhead and underground distribution projects for Victorian electricity networks, including Low Voltage, High Voltage, and Sub-Transmission (up to 66kV).\nThis role can be based in Narre Warren or Melbourne or Geelong.\nRole responsibilities:\nAssume responsibility for the management of small to medium-scale projects, and larger-scale major projects, including;Ownership of distribution design projects, including providing quality assurance reviews and approving drawings.\nApproval and sign-off on non-standard designs.\nProducing or coordinating the production of tender documentation, design documentation/specifications and project deliverables within agreed project timeframes and budget;\nPlanning and managing resources assigned to the project;\nContribute to the training and development of technical resources engaged in project teams but providing technical leadership and advice;\nActing as project liaison for assigned phase/s of project;\nPrepare client project reports and be able to present on project status;\nFinancial Management of project and performance.\n\nUndertaking design and drafting quality assurance reviews.\nApprove distribution design drawings, including non-prescribed design sign-off.\nAble to undertake overhead and underground lines design projects independently and train/mentor junior staff in design best practices.\nDevelop and maintain positive client relationships by conducting all work in a professional and productive manner, servicing delivery by accurately identifying and understanding the client needs.\nCollaborate and participate in bids/tenders, producing high-quality advice and documentation.\nDevelop, improve, and implement review mechanisms to capture and execute improvements to the quality of work produced.\nContribute to Safety in Design workshops and prepare supporting documentation to promote safe construction, operation and maintenance outcomes.\nActively promote and continuously communicate on engineering best practice both in the project, the broader business and the marketplace through active involvement with select industry-based organisations.\nActively participate in professional development and support the participation of others in ongoing professional development activity.\nUnderstand and ensure compliance with regulatory, governance and quality requirements.\n Qualifications & Experience:\nA four-year Electrical Engineering degree (or equivalent)\nNational Engineer Register (NER) or ability to attain.\nRegistered Professional Engineer Victoria (RPEV) or ability to attain.\nMinimum 5 years' relevant industry experience in electrical distribution design.\nDemonstrated experience in overhead and underground distribution design.\nKnowledge of Victorian distribution network and utility standards (AusNet, United Energy, Powercor, CitiPower or Jemena).\nAusNet Services experience is desirable.\nProficiency in Overhead lines design software including Neara and nPoles.\nProficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\n The Benefits\nFlexible working arrangements, including remote working options and full-time or part-time working hours. \nCompetitive remuneration \nPurchased additional annual leave. \nA structured learning and development framework to align with career progression goals and dedicated individual training / conference allowances. \nAn inclusive team culture that celebrates performance and rewards accordingly. \nPaid Primary and Secondary Carer Leave Policy, reflecting our commitment to work-life balance. \nSupport structures like our Employee Assistance Program, professional mentoring, and buddy program for new starters. \nOpportunities to work on special interest projects. \nOpportunities to work across government, private and resource sectors. \nOpportunities to travel for work across multiple offices. \nGreat cultural environment where teamwork and camaraderie are promoted and valued. \nSupportive leadership based on openness. \nEgis is committed to creating an inclusive, creative culture that embraces diversity and flexibility.
