In this role, you will manage tasks independently, mentor junior staff, and serve as a key technical resource.\nThe ideal candidate brings a strong capability in leveraging data and emerging technologies to solve complex transportation challenges. This position offers significant opportunity for professional growth, client interaction, and leadership within NCDOT project delivery, environmental planning, and innovative decision-support tools.\nThe Impact You'll Make:\nServe as technical lead, major task lead, and possibly deputy project manager on public sector Transportation Projects\nGuide multi-disciplinary teams in delivery of transportation projects\nExecute and deliver high-quality work products, on schedule\nCoordinate with clients, resource/regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and technical staff in a confident and professional manner.\nLead GIS analysis and the preparation of GIS graphics\nPreparation of visuals for presentation of project information\nPublic involvement and multi-agency stakeholder meetings in support of project work\nProvide research and analysis for transportation projects\nDevelop client relationships and perform business development functions if necessary\nStay current on the latest transportation planning subject matter, policies, regulations, and techniques.\nServe as a Local, Regional and National resource for Egis transportation planning projects\nOccasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.\nProject Management & Deliverable Support\nEnsure all technical reports, figures, tables, and presentations meet the highest professional and clarity standards.\nCoordinate directly with Project Managers, clients, and agency representatives to meet strict deadlines and budget constraints.\nMentor and guide junior engineers and planners, providing technical QA/QC on their tasks and workflows.\nMaintain meticulous project documentation consistent with firm QA/QC standards.\n The Expertise You'll Bring:\n5+ years of experience working in the transportation planning field.\nAICP Certification (preferred)\nExceptional writing and verbal skills, specifically with planning documents\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and work with a collaborative team\nStrong communication and research skills\nExperience coordinating with clients, stakeholder agencies, and the general public\nProficiency with technical writing, communication software, technology (GIS software), and tools.\nCompletion of degree in Transportation planning, Natural Resources, Urban planning, or related field\nAgency Experience: Proven track record working on NCDOT, MPO, or North Carolina municipal transportation projects.\nProfessional Attributes\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical concepts clearly.\nSelf-motivated with the ability to manage tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment.\nCollaborative team player who enjoys working across disciplines and seniority levels.\nIntellectual curiosity and an eagerness to learn new tools, methods, and technologies.\n Why You'll Thrive at Egis\nAt Egis, you'll do more than build your career-you'll help shape the future of infrastructure.
