The role provides technical leadership, project oversight, and coordination across multidisciplinary design teams while maintaining responsibility for design quality, regulatory compliance, schedule adherence, budget management, and stakeholder engagement.\nThe position supports projects through proposal development, detailed design, permitting, tendering, construction review, and project closeout. Work involves coordination with clients, contractors, and regulatory authorities to support successful project delivery in accordance with Canadian structural design standards. The ideal candidate brings more than 10 years of structural engineering experience, professional engineering registration in Ontario, exposure to complex building or infrastructure projects, and demonstrated capability in technical leadership, mentoring, client relationship management, and business development.\nKey Responsibilities\nManage a team of engineers and technologists delivering structural engineering projects through design, tender, construction, and closeout phases.\nLead structural design activities and provide project delivery oversight, including schedule management, resource planning, and budget control.\nPrepare, review, and seal structural engineering design packages in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.\nProvide technical advisory services and engineering consultation throughout project execution and design development.\nIdentify and pursue business development opportunities to support client growth, project acquisition, and market expansion.\nPrepare engineering proposals, scopes of work, fee estimates, and technical submissions for project pursuits.\nCoordinate stakeholder engagement activities with clients, contractors, government agencies, and authorities having jurisdiction.\nDevelop permit submissions, tender documents, engineering specifications, and construction drawings.\nOversee construction review services and monitor construction activities for compliance with design intent and project requirements.\nPrepare technical reports, engineering assessments, and project documentation to support project delivery.\nConduct design reviews and provide technical direction for engineering deliverables and quality assurance activities.\nMentor junior and intermediate engineers through technical leadership, coaching, and professional development support.\nPerform peer reviews and support quality management processes to maintain engineering standards and project consistency.\n Required\nUniversity degree in Structural Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario and in good standing.\nMinimum 10 - 15 years of structural engineering design experience.\nDemonstrated experience delivering structural engineering solutions for medium to complex building and infrastructure projects.\nExperience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating with construction stakeholders.\nStrong working knowledge of:Ontario Building Code (OBC)\nNational Building Code of Canada (NBCC)\nCanadian Standards Association (CSA) standards\nApplicable structural engineering regulations and design standards\n\nProficiency with: AutoCAD - SAFE - S-FRAME - SAP - WoodWorks - ETABS\nStrong technical writing, verbal communication, problem-solving, time management, and organizational skills.\nDemonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships while ensuring project and service quality.\nValid driver's license and access to a registered and insured vehicle.\nAbility to work independently and within collaborative project environments.\n Assets\nExperience supporting projects through the full project lifecycle, including planning, design, permitting, tendering, and construction.\nExperience mentoring and developing engineering staff.\nBusiness development, client pursuit, and proposal preparation experience.\nExperience working with regulatory agencies and authorities having jurisdiction.\nExposure to multidisciplinary building or infrastructure project environments.\nExperience conducting engineering peer reviews and quality assurance activities.\nBilingual in French and English is a strong asset \n Egis Canada is an equal opportunities employer offering a competitive salary and benefits to those with the skills suited to the needs of our clients.
