Our uniquely redesigned product is a significantly more compact fuel cell with high power density and lower costs of production. Faced with the challenges of climate change and the transition to a decentralized energy system, EHG seeks to provide high performance and cost-effective fuel cell solutions to our clients and partners.\nWe are establishing our US manufacturing operations in Houston, Texas. We are seeking Manufacturing Engineers to industrialize our products in the US - transferring proven process from our Swiss operations, standing up manual stack assembly, commissioning our roll-to-roll production equipment, and working alongside the packaging partners who will integrate our systems. This is a hands-on, build-it role for engineers who want to put a factory on the ground rather than inherit one.\nKey Responsibilities\nServe as the on-site engineering presence at packaging and integration partner facilities - reviewing build plans against our design, resolving producibility issues in real time, and supporting first-article builds\n\nOwn design-for-manufacture feedback between partner sites, US operations and the engineering team in Nyon\n\nDevelop, validate and mature work instructions, process documentation and routings for US operations, in line with the EH quality management system\n\nLead the transfer of the process of record from Nyon to Houston - including tooling, fixtures, layouts, cycle-time balancing and operator training material\n\nDeploy and commission the manual stack assembly line in the US, building on proven Swiss process and learning\n\nDeploy and commission roll-to-roll production equipment in the US, working alongside the equipment supplier through installation, acceptance testing and process qualification\n\nEstablish process windows, capability studies and control plans; qualify processes to the point of repeatable, conforming output\n\nSpecify tooling, fixtures, jigs and automation equipment with suppliers\n\nTroubleshoot production, quality and equipment issues on the floor; drive root cause and corrective action\n\nSupport supplier quality and certification activities with the necessary process data and documentation\n\nDrive OEE, throughput, yield and cost-reduction improvements using Lean methods\n\nSupport safe working practice and EHS compliance in all process and equipment design\n\nSkills and Experience Required\nBSc/MSc in manufacturing, mechanical, mechatronic or industrial engineering is mandatory\n\nMinimum 5-8 years of manufacturing engineering experience in an assembly or automation environment\n\nDemonstrated experience installing, commissioning and qualifying production equipment - not only specifying it\n\nExperience writing work instructions and process documentation in a controlled quality system (ISO 9001 or equivalent)\n\nExperience working at or with external manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers or system integrators\n\nWorking knowledge of Lean manufacturing, line balancing, process validation and statistical process control\n\nProficiency with CAD and ERP systems\n\nComfortable operating with ambiguity in a start-up environment; able to work autonomously with internal and external experts\n\nWilling to travel frequently to partner sites within the US, and to Switzerland for extended periods during process transfer (expect 30-50% travel in the first year)\n\nExcellent spoken and written English is mandatory\n\nMust have existing authorization to work in the United States\n\nDesirable\nExperience with web handling, coating, converting or other roll-to-roll processes\n\nExperience in fuel cell, battery, electrolyzer or comparable electrochemical manufacturing\n\nExperience taking a product from prototype through first production at a new site\n\nExposure to UL, CSA or CE certification processes\n\nFrench or German language ability\n\nWhat We Offer\nThe opportunity to build a manufacturing operation from the ground up, rather than optimize an existing one\n\nDirect ownership of process and equipment decisions, with access to the engineering team that designed the product\n\nA small, fast-moving team where the work you do is visible in the product\n\nStart date: Immediately\nOnly candidates selected for interview will be contacted.\nEH Group Engineering is an equal opportunity employer. We consider all qualified applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other protected characteristic.","description_format":"text","description_chars":4956,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[{"language":"German","level":"All levels","optional":true},{"language":"English","level":"All levels","optional":false}]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":[],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-26T22:53:56Z"}],"liveness":{"score":82,"band":"hot","label":"Hiring now","p_open":1,"p_active":0.821,"p_room":1,"age_days":5,"expected_fill_days":24,"reasons":["conf:1","win:early"],"computed_at":"2026-10-01T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/eh-manufacturing-engineer","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/eh-manufacturing-engineer.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T10:34:57Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1680,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3320,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
