You'll take responsibility for the backend that everything else runs on: the services, data and infrastructure behind our creative tools. Your job is to make the platform dependable, secure and ready to scale, so the rest of the team can keep building new creative tools on top of it. Location: Bole, Addis Ababa. Please know that this is NOT A REMOTE ROLE.\nWhat you'll do\nOwn the design and quality of our backend services and APIs\n\nBuild and maintain billing and usage systems where accuracy matters\n\nMake long-running background work reliable and observable\n\nImprove how we test, release and monitor our software\n\nUphold strong security and data-protection practices across the platform\n\nReview code, write things down, and mentor a junior engineer\n\nYou'll likely have\n5+ years building production backend systems, with strong Python\n\nDeep experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred): schema design, migrations and concurrency\n\nExperience with asynchronous job processing and background workers\n\nExperience with payments, subscriptions or other code that handles money\n\nHands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and CI/CD\n\nGood instincts for monitoring, logging and alerting\n\nClear written communication, and you're comfortable owning outcomes with little oversight\n\nNice to have\nExperience with generative AI APIs (image, video or language models)\n\nFamiliarity with local payment methods in Ethiopia\n\nSome React/TypeScript, enough to follow a problem across the stack\n\nWhy join EhudAI\nReal ownership over systems that matter to the business\n\nWork on creative tools for filmmakers and storytellers\n\nA small team where your work ships quickly and decisions are close at hand\n\nCompetitive fixed monthly salary and benefits\n\nHow to apply\nClick the link below to open our application form.
