If you’re looking for something easier -this isn’t it.\nThe Role\nThe Accounting Manager will be responsible for the management of all accounting operations including revenue recognition, accounts payable (AP), inventory and fixed asset\nmanagement, payroll, and cash management. This role is expected to bring expertise in\nbest in class processes, usage of AI and automation, and systems to enable efficient and scalable accounting operations.\nCross functional collaboration will be a key to success. This role will work closely with the\nbroader finance function (FP&A, Strategic Finance, Sales) to provide insights and analysis to business partners throughout the organization.\nThe ideal candidate will bring experience from a public accounting firm, preferably with an audit background, combined with industry experience in a corporate accounting environment. Reporting to the Controller, this role is a key hire in building a best-in-class accounting function capable of supporting the company through its next stage of growth.\nHow you’ll contribute\nManage the full cycle accounting operations and month-end close including revenue recognition, accounts payable, fixed assets and capital expenditures, payroll, and cash management\n\nBuild and utilize AI workflows and tools to create agents and process flows to eliminate manual work; leverage automation capabilities within the company’s ERP and adjacent tools (e.g., AP automation, close management software) to reduce completion time and increase accuracy\n\nDrive process improvement in all aspects of accounting and across entities for\n\nefficiency and scalability\nDevelop scalable internal controls within the accounting function and intersections\n\nacross the organization; design and maintain a SOX-ready control framework in anticipation of future compliance requirements\nManage and continuously improve financial reporting for the company including\n\nunderstanding and analyzing financial data, and developing and presenting accounting\ninsights to leadership\nWork closely with the finance team on monthly financial analysis and insights\n\nas well as budget preparation and inputs\nBecome a trusted business partner to key stakeholders by providing BvA analysis and\n\ninsights along with suggested improvements or process changes\nSupport the annual audit and tax compliance; serve as primary liaison to external auditors, managing PBC requests, audit timelines, and resolution of technical accounting matters raised\n\nAssist in development, tracking, and performance of accounting KPIs\n\nRemain current on accounting pronouncements that are applicable to the company,\n\ninform management of new requirements and changes to financial reporting, and\nimplement timely\nWhat you need to succeed\nActive CPA license\n\nPublic accounting firm experience required (Big 4 or large regional firm); audit background strongly preferred\n\nIndustry (corporate/private company) accounting experience required in addition to public accounting firm background\n\nAt least 5-7 years of progressive accounting and managerial experience\n\nExperience building and utilizing AI workflows and agents to automate every day tasks\n\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nData mindset\n\nHard-working and high-intensity mindset\n\nPlease note that applications will not be reviewed if you do not meet this criteria\nWhy join Eight Sleep?\nInnovation in a culture of excellence\nJoin us in a workplace where innovation isn’t just encouraged - it’s a standard.
