Join our team!\nPOSITION MISSION\nThe General Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of restaurant performance, including financial results, guest experience, operational execution, and team development. This role owns the success of the bakery by delivering strong business outcomes while building and developing high-performing teams.\nIn alignment with Bagel Brands’ Mission, Vision, and Values, the General Manager leads with a focus on taking ownership, supporting their team, having fun, and obsessing over the guest-while developing future leaders and creating a culture of accountability and growth.\nRESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:\nBusiness Performance & Operational Ownership\nOwn overall restaurant performance across sales, people, operations, and controllable profit. \nManage the restaurant P&L, including revenue, labor, food cost, and controllable expenses, leveraging available and required reporting tools (Period Business Reviews, Declining Budget, etc.). \nDevelop and execute plans to achieve sales goals, manage costs, and drive profitability. \nMonitor performance trends and take proactive action to address gaps and improve results. \nEnsure accurate financial reporting, cash handling, and compliance with company standards. Labor, Inventory & Financial Management\nBuild and manage labor schedules to balance business needs, team member experience, and labor targets. \nOversee inventory management, ordering, and product usage to minimize waste and control costs. \nEnsure accurate product ordering, receiving, and inventory tracking. \nMaintain accountability for controllable expenses and drive efficiency across all areas of the business. Guest Experience & Operational Excellence (Guest Obsessed)\nEnsure a consistent, high-quality guest experience through strong execution of brand standards. \nAddress guest concerns quickly and professionally, ensuring positive resolution. \nMaintain high standards for food quality, safety, cleanliness, and overall restaurant environment. \nEnsure operational execution meets company expectations for service, product quality, and cleanliness. \nLead by example by working in all areas of the restaurant and supporting the team during peak periods. \nSustain all 5S and Brand Standards to maximize efficiency and deliver a consistent guest experience that aligns with being Guest Obsessed. Team Leadership & Development\nHire, develop, and retain a high-performing team, including District Shift Leaders, Shift Leaders, Bakers, and Team Members. \nProvide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance management to ensure team effectiveness and accountability. \nEnsure clear expectations are set and consistently reinforced across the team. \nDevelop District Shift Leaders and Shift Leaders through hands-on coaching, delegation, and exposure to business operations. Talent Development & Succession Planning\nBuild a strong internal talent pipeline by identifying and developing team members for advancement into leadership roles. \nOwn talent outcomes within the restaurant, including retention, engagement, and readiness for promotion. \nDrive strong onboarding and early tenure experiences to support team member retention. \nPartner with District Managers to assess talent, identify gaps, and build succession plans. \nReinforce leadership expectations aligned with Bagel Brands’ Leadership Competencies. People Management & Culture\nCreate a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team environment aligned with Bagel Brands’ Mission, Vision, and Values. \nEnsure fair and consistent application of company policies, procedures, and employment practices. \nLead scheduling, payroll, hiring, and employee relations in partnership with field leadership. \nFoster a culture of ownership, accountability, and support across the team. Compliance, Safety & Standards\nEnsure compliance with all company policies, food safety standards, and local, state, and federal regulations. \nMaintain a safe work environment for team members and guests. \nEnsure all operational procedures, documentation, and reporting are completed accurately and on time.\nLEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES (MANAGER)\nEffective Communication: Communicates clearly and consistently with team members, setting expectations and providing feedback that drives performance.\nAccountability & Ownership: Takes full ownership of restaurant results and team performance, holding self and others accountable for outcomes.\nAdaptability & Perseverance: Leads effectively in a fast-paced environment, adjusting to changing business needs and operational challenges.\nEmpowerment: Develops and enables team members to take ownership, grow their skills, and prepare for future roles.\nCuriosity: Seeks opportunities to improve operations, develop people, and enhance the guest experience.\nSelf-Awareness: Demonstrates professionalism and understands the impact of leadership behavior on team culture and performance.\nREQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE\nMust be at least 18 years of age. \nHigh school diploma required; college degree preferred. \n3+ years of customer service experience, with at least 1 year of management experience. \nExperience managing restaurant operations, including financials, labor, and inventory. \nStrong understanding of P&L management and cost control. \nDemonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop team members. \nStrong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills. \nAbility to work varied hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. \nValid driver’s license and reliable transportation.\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS\nThis role requires the ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, work in a fast-paced restaurant environment, and lift, carry, and move up to 50 pounds. The role may involve exposure to heat, cold, and typical kitchen and restaurant conditions.
