If you are interested in improving the environment and advancing your career, then EKI is the place for you.\nThe Stormwater Engineer/Scientist position reports to the Team Leader and is responsible for supporting stormwater compliance and stormwater management design projects for our industrial, commercial, and municipal clients.\n PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES\nYour responsibilities may include, but will not be limited to the following:\nServe as a key member of the Environmental practice with the ability to step in and immediately manage various environmental projects\nPrepare technical memoranda, Exceedance Response Action (ERA) reports, electronic deliverables, and Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and review and analyze data throughout the project cycle\nPerform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses of stormwater runoff\nDesign stormwater best management practices\nInspect commercial, industrial, and construction sites for conformance with applicable stormwater permit requirements\nPerform pollutant source assessments\nCollect samples and evaluate stormwater quality data\nProvide training to client personnel regarding applicable permit requirements, sampling procedures, and BMP implementation\nAssist with permit applications and communicate with various environmental permitting agencies\nWork with internal and external team members to produce successful projects\nOther duties as required \nQUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering,Environmental Engineering, Geology, or Environmental Science; Master’s degree preferred\nKnowledge, Skills & Abilities\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience as an engineer or scientist in the environmental engineering/consulting field with a background in industrial stormwater projects \nProfessional Engineer license, Engineer-In-Training certification, or Professional Geologist license preferred\nQualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioner (QISP) certification or interest in obtaining preferred\nExperience with Autocad, AutoDesk Civil 3D, or ESRI Pro software packages preferred\nOSHA HAZWOPER training preferred\nCompetencies\nMust have effective communication skills both oral and written\nMust have a strong work ethic and attention to detail\nMust have ability to multi-task, stay organized, work independently, and collaborate with various project teams\nMust have a strong desire to grow personally as well as professionally\nMust have a great attitude and be eager to learn\nMust have a current valid driver’s license\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT\nMust be able to work in a fast-paced environment with high-volume workload and frequent short deadlines\nMust have the ability to obtain medical clearance to work on hazardous waste site(s)\nMust be able to lift up to 35 pounds\nMust be able to work 10-hour days\nMust be able to work remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods\nMust be able to communicate with others to exchange information\nTRAVEL REQUIREMENTS\nMust be able to travel occasionally, possibly overnight for customer meetings and site visits up to 20% of the time\nSALARY RANGE\nThe expected base salary range for this position is $85,000 - $134,000 per year. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's skills, experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
