You'll work daily with mechanical, acoustic, firmware, algorithm, and\nquality engineers, as well as our contract manufacturers and component vendors. You'll design\nthe electronics that capture heart sounds, lung sounds, and ECG signals, power our devices, and\nsend data wirelessly to our apps. The role covers both our shipping products and our next\ngeneration of hardware. On shipping products, you'll lead root cause analysis of field failures,\nqualify second-source components, and work with our contract manufacturers to improve yield.\nOn new products, you'll help define the hardware architecture and take designs from schematic\nthrough production. We encourage engineers to work outside their core discipline, and you're\nwelcome to contribute to sensor, algorithm, and firmware development where you have the\nskills. This is a hands-on role with significant time spent in the lab.\nEssential Functions\nDesign, develop, and test electronics for digital stethoscopes and related products with\na cross-functional engineering team\nHelp define the architecture of next-generation hardware\nDesign schematics and PCB layouts for mixed-signal, battery-powered boards\nBecome an expert on capturing biological signals such as PCG and ECG\nBring up new hardware, run verification testing, and contribute to DFMEA\nLead root cause analysis of field failures and implement design fixes\nFind and qualify second-source and replacement components\nDevelop manufacturing tests with contract manufacturers and improve production yield\nWork with electronics vendors on manufacturability, cost, and build specifications\nLead safety, EMC, and wireless testing with outside labs (IEC 60601-1, IEC 60601-1-2,\nFCC)\nContribute to sensor, algorithm, and firmware development where you have the skills\nNavigate medical device regulatory requirements and contribute to design control\ndocumentation\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field\n5+ years of electrical engineering experience\nTrack record of taking electronic products from concept through production, with hands-\non design of both analog and digital circuits\nExperience designing low-noise analog circuits such as sensor front ends, amplifiers,\nfilters, and ADC interfaces\nExperience with schematic capture and PCB layout for mixed-signal boards, including\ngrounding, power integrity, and EMC/ESD design practices\nExperience with battery-powered designs, including power management, charging, and\nlow-power operation\nExperience supporting products in production, including root cause analysis, component\nsubstitution, and working with contract manufacturers\nAbility to do the analysis behind a design, such as worst-case, tolerance, noise, and\npower budget calculations\nComfortable in the lab with oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, power analyzers, and\nsimilar test equipment\nClear written and verbal communication, including design reviews, test reports, and\nspecifications that others can build from\nStrong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work across\nengineering, quality, and manufacturing teams\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in medical device development (FDA regulated environments, IEC 62304,\ndesign controls)\nBackground in consumer electronics or consumer medical devices\nKnowledge of digital signal processing (DSP) implementation on embedded platforms\nExperience with audio signal processing or acoustic measurement systems\nExperience designing acquisition circuits for biological signals such as ECG, PCG, or\nEMG\nFamiliarity with wireless certification processes (FCC, CE, Bluetooth SIG)\nUnderstanding of hardware component sourcing, bill of materials (BOM) optimization,\nand design for manufacturing (DFM)\nExperience with Altium Designer\nExperience with Python or other scripting languages for test automation and tooling\nPrevious work in startup environments\nContributions to open-source embedded projects\nWhy join Eko Health?\nBenefits and Perks We Offer:\nThe opportunity to work on products that impact the health of millions of people.\nGenerous paid-time off\nStock incentive plans\nMedical/Dental/Vision, Disability + Life Insurance\nOne Medical membership\nParental Leave\n401k Matching\nLearning and Development stipend\nWe believe the ability to listen is the ability to care.
